We will definitely return for brunch!
From the get-go it was super cute. There was plenty of parking when we got there. Mind you we did go early. The downstairs restaurant is upscale beautiful. Kind of like a speakeasy feel vibe. Very nicely done. We ventered upstairs for live music on the rooftop bar.
The hostesses were so sweet. Us, we were LED out to the patio and given our choice of tables after we sat down they told us that somebody would be with us shortly. She had gotten two steps away when our waitress had come up and already asked us if we knew what we’d like to drink if we had been there before the whole spiel.
Her waitress was very helpful and helping us decide drinks, food options, things like that. We also had a conversation about the Vols because I had on orange and my balls necklace.
I had a Cobb salad, that was wonderful, I didn’t take a picture of it because it was a Cobb salad. Lol
However, my husband ordered some sloppy burger with chili and bacon And a bunch of other stuff on it …just the bacon alone was half an inch thick. Oh my gosh, the bacon was a lot!… It was so thick but very yummy.
If you are a french fry connoisseur you do not want to miss this. Place! Their french fries were amazing. Actually I’m salivating just thinking about them right now And I saw later that they have sweet potato fries. I doubt they’re as good but it would be worth a try.
So, if you are any near the Rose and crown it would be worth your while to try this place. We were so happy with our choice!!
My husband had the wings as they passed appetizers, and he said they were great. A friend had some bruschetta and said it was delicious. (I don’t eat standing up because I spill on myself and am a klutz)
We went downstairs for dinner afterwards. We had the lobster bites (OMG), and I had the chicken Caesar salad. You know, you can really make a salad boring — this wasn’t it. The salad was great – just the right amount of dressing, and generous with the cheese! The chicken was delicious – warm, moist, tender.
Miguel, the owner, stopped by the private event and was super nice. Staff was all very helpful. It got very crowded, and no doubt had to have been frustrating to serve the big crowd, but you wouldn’t have known it from their positive attitudes.
If you haven’t tried this place, put it on your list.
(P.S. – I hadn’t been here before, but apparently, they’ve done renovations and it looks a lot different).
Photos are of the space upstairs.
We tried the turkey burger (amazing) and the hot honey chicken sandwich. We also tried the regular fries (average at best) and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were wonderful!
Expect to pay about $25 or more per person, not including drinks.
