Bill’s Toasty is a local phenomenon that has gained national acclaim. It is a bustling hole in the wall diner that people come from all over the country to visit. Great food at decent prices, with a small town feel. During meal rushes the place is cramped because there’s very little seating, but they are open 24 hours a day, so go late at night for an extra special treat!

Got the cheddar burger with a huge melted cheddar skirt around it. Burger was 8oz, juicy, & delicious. Milkshake was good too.

Bill’s Toasty is a small, real, oldtime diner that hasn’t changed in decades. It’s not pretty, but it’s wonderful. The service was friendly and excellent. The small (1/4 pound) burger with cheese and grilled onions was plenty and excellent. The onion rings and hash browns were great. The best was the chocolate malt. Ah, memories. We’ll be back.

If you want to feel like you’re in a bobs burgers setting this is it for you. The layout is it for me they cook their food right infront of you and let me tell you. There girls work their tails off. Great little whole in the wall. Great burgers (big too, a single is plenty) fries are the only.thing thay could maybe be better, but they have many other great options, so I’m not deducting any points for that.
Also have a very cute clean bathroom with funny little pictures and signs everywhere to read while you do your thing. You have to walk through their back prepping kitchen to get to jt, but its kind of nice to see where you’re eating and how clean in general the whole place is.
All around a great place.

Stopped for lunch. In and out in 30 minutes, and had a wonderful Cheddar Cheese Burger. Very small dinner type, but i had a great conversation, and my meal was like $6.

Went to Taylorville for the day on a whim. We had heard Bill’s had good burgers. That definitely proved true, and how could they not? We were immediately transported back to the mid-1950s diner when entering, and the griddle looked like it had been in use since then-VERY well-seasoned! I had the regular cheeseburger with everything and fries. I think the burger was 1/2 pound of meat. They do have a smaller burger but also have doubles and triples if you are really hungry. My wife had a grilled cheese and fried mushrooms. We sat at the counter and enjoyed the atmosphere. There are picnic tables outside for the nice days, totally shaded after 2 pm. We will be back to try some other menu items-a good ole horseshoe and pork tenderloin sandwich! Highly recommend!

I want to start with what a wonderful and pleasant day I had shopping and visiting all the small locally owned businesses inTaylorville today. And when this establishment was recommended for lunch we were very excited to try it. Until I was treated the way I was treated. when I started to wonder where our food was after a 25 min wait I asked where it was. And they were not busy at all. So I didn’t understand the hold up. The day time waitress was so rude she said she told us it would be a wait because of shift change and that’s a lie she never mentioned it or I would have been more understanding. But because I come in and it’s almost time for you to go, you didn’t serve me or my daughter. It Is bad business After over 30 mins we got our food. I was so upset I ate one bite and told them I was leaving their establishment. They called the police on me and said I dine and dashed. Which I ate one bite. I was called to the police station and asked to pay for food I never ate or get arrested. Such a horrible experience and I have never been treated in such a horrible manner in my life. Your customer service lacks big time. And I would never recommend the establishment to anyone.

Went during off-peak lunch time around 2 p.m. plenty of seats. You can sit at the counter and watch them cook right in front of you. The food was great, not overly pricey for today’s standard. Two of us eating with side dishes of cheese cubes and mushrooms main dishes and drinks around $28.. not bad for good tasting food. Kept asking myself why I hadn’t tried this place before. Elderly people with walkers or Canes be careful of the step up at the curb. And wheelchairs and scooters the closest ramps are at the corner of the streets. They are a 24 hours place and serve breakfast all day long. I highly recommend you give this hometown shop a try.

Listen, I drive OTR, and I was in Springfield Illinois at a stop. Told the guys I was stopping for lunch, and they asked if I was going to get lunch in Taylorville, I said yeah. They told me to try this place called Bill’s Toasty. They hyped this place up for having phenomenal burgers. Mannnnnnnn, they weren’t lying!! Nicole( ) took my order and was SUPER friendly and helpful. She even took a few pics for me.
Moving on, my burgers came out, and I almost bit my tongue they WERE SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! I knew when she went in that little cooler and tossed 2 balls of ground beef on the grill, I was in for a treat. And I wasn’t disappointed. The burger literally melted in my mouth. Ground beef is already tender, but how the hell do you tenderize hamburger meat even more!!?? Phenomenal!!!
In closing, please go see the crew over at Bill’s Toasty Shop in Taylorville. Give Nicole a big ol “Big Ben” hug from St. Louis and tell her I sent ya! Cheers!
