First visit to Pinehurst, spent a bit of time in Pinehurst Village, and ran upon this cool place. I was alone, so I was immediately seated at the bar. The bartender gladly took my order, even though I wasn’t drinking. She was most pleasant, and made me feel welcome and at ease.

I ordered a Guinness Reuben with a side of slaw. The slaw was unique, sweet and completely delicious. It held my attention from my Reuben, far longer than most other sides could have done. The sandwich itself was perfect, to my tastes. It arrived hot, and fresh from the kitchen. The bread was buttered and toasted to a fine crispiness. It housed generous layers of meat, cheese and kraut, with a flavorful sauce. It hit the spot completely.

I wish I’d been in position to order a Guinness to accompany the meal, but I was headed to a doctors appointment. Next time!

Cool place, great food, excellent service. See you in a few weeks!

Return visit, with my spouse. She had a most fantastic Fish and Chips, and I ordered a Monte Cristo.

Fish and Chips was three large slabs of beautiful haddock, light, flakey and delicious. Chips were excellent . I got to have her cole slaw.

The Monte Cristo was delicious, and piled high with turkey. The jam/dip was on the side, and was quite tasty.

More on the slaw…rarely do my comments gravitate toward slaw, but this stuff is something else. Well worth your side order, if it doesnt come with.

Our service was perfect again!

“Blackened” mahi was non existent , see photo for the blackened, it was terrible (not blackened and no seasoning at all). Fish was so dry. If you want seafood, do not attend (not even the crab cakes). The burger was good! The host and atmosphere was good!

Place was easy to find, nestled in an adorable quaint town. Good views if you sit outside. Our waitress was a little absent for some reason. The rest of the staff saw that and picked right up with everything we needed. The fries were very good. Burger cooked the way I asked for it. Large selection of whiskeys and bourbon. Great Lavender French 75.

If you love golf, good food, or a well stocked bar – this place has something for you.
Dropped in for a late lunch, and bartender Zay was quick to sort me out with a pint of Harp & his recommendation of the Reuben was spot on. A chopped style corned beef on rye, with fries was filling and delicious. Not too much sauerkraut or sauce to overwhelm the flavor and a nicely toasted marble rye, made this Reuben a great lunch option.

Cheerful service and delicious food. I liked that there were a couple of vegan options – the portobello tacos were excellent!

Had a burger, dining companion had tacos. Burger was great, companion said tacos were good as well. Waitress recommended both of those dishes. She was excellent, very personable and efficient. She overheard my dining companion mention upcoming college graduation and gave us a slice of cheesecake (also delicious) on the house. Decent whiskey selection and can pour over large cubes. Would absolutely go back again.

Stopped here on the last day of the Masters to watch DeChambeau and McILROY tee off on one of their 5 TV’s placed around the small interior area. It was busy, but some how we managed an indoor table without a wait.

Our server, Connor, was very attentive! our waters were never empty and he checked on us frequently. He had such a positive and pleasant demeanor.

The story of Drum and Quill about Bob Drum is made evident through the decor around the restaurant.

The menu has some unique options and the Spirit selection is vast! On this day they had Bloody Mary’s and mimosas on special for $6.

I highly recommend the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich! So much food for the price and delicious! The breading is the best I’ve ever had!!! My dining partner said the Mahi Tacos were delicious and loved the won ton chips that came with it!

Will definitely be coming back to try other menu items!

Every time I’m in Pinehurst, I make it a point to stop at Drum & Quill—it’s simply one of a kind. The food is excellent, with flavors that hit the mark every time, and the story behind the restaurant is fascinating. This place perfectly captures the spirit of Pinehurst: classic, welcoming, and full of character. Whether you’re winding down after a round of golf or just exploring the town, Drum & Quill is an absolute must-visit. ⛳✨

Ate here with my boyfriend over the weekend and had a great experience. Hailey was our awesome server. She recommended the fried green tomato caprese and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the French dip and fish and chips, and both were really good. We’ll definitely be back!
