I’ve had pericos for years now and the quality has went down. I ordered two 6 pack tacos bundles and 4 containers of salsa through my door dash account as a pickup order. The taco shells were not consumable, when biting into the taco the shell was stale, imagine deep fried stale. And they sold me 12 of them. The salsa was old just by opening and visual I knew it was not fresh. I immediately called the store told them who I was as I was one of the later orders at 7:49pm whom just picked up. I asked the cashier if the salsa was old because I am already familiar with thier salsa, she apologized and stated it was made the previous dad, 1 day old. She is correct it’s old salsa but I can guarantee it’s older than a day by how separated and clumpy forming in the container. I ordered food for me and my three children and it could have lead to food poisoning. The smell was bad the visual was disgusting. The salsa from my opinion as a consumer of 5 years now was not 1 day old., The owners need to know the quality of what is being put out, they will loose business as they lost mine I demanded a refund because how unfair its is to purchase food that they admitted is old. When I placed my order I assumed I would be purchasing fresh food, yes deep fried but at the very least fresh not old food. Bummer Pericos do better. I won’t be returning.

Hello to the owners response, google would not let me response back but only edit my original review. However I order through Door dash but as a pickup order, I placed the order and I picked up my order that how I order ahead with yall, I understand if the shells are soft with the waiting time when you order ahead, but that wasn’t the case the shells were stale, when we bit into them the kids couldn’t even chew through them because Instead of being light and crispy, the shell felt rubbery become overly hard or dense, making them difficult to bite through slightly off with a stale oil flavor. I called and talked to the cashier who answered the phone and they apologized they only stated the salsa was a day old. The salsa tasted so bad way longer than just one day old, even with a day old usually the flavor enhances and would be tasty and that wasn’t the case it was bad experience, I hate to complain but I wanted you to know what we experienced with our order. I support local business’s and hate to ask for a refund but it wasn’t fair what we experienced I believe that the salsa alone could have given us food poisoning. I am okay with just receiving the refund, I don’t think we will return back.

Food: great. (I got a burrito)
I’m writing this mainly for the service.
I work in the trades and I stop at a lot of places to get breakfast. Most of them just want you in and out or take your order and throw food at you. To be clear, I have never been to a Pericos.
I walked in was greeted with a good morning. I wasn’t rushed into making a decision. I wish I had asked her name (she was younger, black hair, pretty, great attitude) but she was wonderful. Vibe was awesome, super friendly and made my morning way better.
I hope you have someone like her greeting at all your locations.

Solid experience every time. Service is good, usually busy. We usually get a 6 pack of tacos, shredded beef is the best!
The salsa has a good heat to it and they give you plenty! The tacos are filled with good amounts of meat as well, my wife and I split a 6 pack

I was driving through Albuquerque and I didn’t want to stop at the typical scuzzy fast food options along i40. I looked up tacos and burritos and this was one of the first options. I glanced at the menu and decided to try it. I was going to show up right before closing so I called ahead to confirm that the kitchen would still be open. They gladly advised me to come and get some food and that there would be plenty of food available until closing.

I got there with a little time to spare. I ordered the carne adovada burrito. It was prepared pretty quickly and it met and exceeded my expectation for a good food option within a close distance to the freeway. The staff was pleasant even though they were preparing for closing.

I will not only stop in again, I will recommend it to others that travel through Albuquerque.

We ordered the Burrito Grande with pork and the six pack tacos with beef and this was the freshest food I’ve had in a long time! I’ll be back! I have passed by your place 10 years and never gone in until now, and I’ll be back! The food was so fresh, I was shocked. The green chili was spot on, the meat fresh and juicy, the beans perfection. I loved it. I will be back and I really hope to have the same pleasure. It was a little cold cuz we did a pickup, but that is on me.

As we were doing a moving road trip from Arizona to Georgia, we had to go to thru Albuquerque and my daughter told me You Have To go to Perico’s.
So we stayed the night at a hotel, and showed up when they opened at 9 am. The owners and employees were so very nice and welcoming.
We ordered 6 red chili, bean and cheese burritos to go, for me and my husband and to take some to my daughter in Georgia.
Very flavorful, Beans were tasty and the cheese was great quality.
The owner even gave us a pint cup of red chili and chicharrone. Both very good.
The only thing was, it didn’t have much carne/meat.
We definitely will stop again, when we’re in the Albuquerque area.
Thanks a Million to the owners for being so nice to us!!

I just really can’t live without the tacos from this place! Yes, there are other good things too. My kids like the burritos, I like the breakfast plates. I really don’t have any complaints, but it’s the shredded beef tacos that keep me coming back!! And the people are nice and hard-working. I don’t know what’s going to happen to this location, but I know they’re opening up a new location on Coors and St. Joseph’s so I’m looking forward to seeing that place too.

I always Enjoy the food! But it would be great if you would tie and seal bag with order for extra safety for delivery.
