Amazing food ! Taste was great ! The owner was awesome and very attentive. We got their kebabs over noodles and fried shrimp. They are open late until 2 am. Great place to get food after the club or bar visit. Highly recommended.

GET THE BEEF STEW. My god…

Ordered for take out. One of the best twists on beef stew I’ve ever tasted in my whole life.

This place is the last of a dying breed here in Pittsburgh.

Family-owned. Authentic. Just real people serving real, made-to-order, fresh food.

Please support this place and keep them open forever.

Truly delicious chicken. A little hole in the wall run by a lovely kind family. Juicy and flavorful. Reminiscent of chicken on a stick but a much more complex flavor

Incredible experience! It’s a small place with big and delicious flavors. The woman taking the orders is very kind. I got the egg rolls with moon sauce and the beef stew. Both were great, and I see why everyone raves about the amazing moon sauce. Will come back when visiting Pittsburgh again.

Worst food I ever ate! No seasoning and very bland as if they rushed the order somehow after I waited 50 minutes for the crap

Okay can I just say. Wow. Get the stew, first of all. Food i got was off the charts delish! The only reason I rated atmosphere low is because, it probably isn’t really a place you’d want to go on a date or something. There is some seating but more of an intended take out place. When we arrived, so did about 10 door dash drivers, and there was a mother with about 4 kids and a dog waiting for their food, the kids were super loud and the dog barked, my fiance has a hard time with noise and nerves and we almost left, but so glad we waited it out! There was no wait for us to sit at a table, but there was a wait to get our order in because you order at the counter and they were handling the door dashers. Not the restaurants fault with the noise we arrived to, but if you go during a busy time, this may be the atmosphere you walk in to. In my opinion, food is worth the wait. The iced coffee is also deliscious, and the moon sauce with the cream cheese wonton. But listen, the stew. Just get the stew. Best lo main noodle I’ve had in.. possibly ever. The meat, as described, fall apart tender. The potatoes and carrots I couldn’t get enough of, but the broth. Never tasted anything like it and I can see us coming back many times just for THAT STEW!

Ok… So I had a weird experience here…

My first impression was that is was a messy room, awkwardly layed out, just one guy mowing down something with his head down. Such an odd layout.

I’m in town only for the night so I asked what they recommended after telling them what I usually like.

They suggested so many things and was confused so I just ordered the wontons as they suggested, the fresh rolls, and the surf and turf.

When I saw that the surf and turf came with wontons I said I don’t need to make a separate order for wontons but the person at the counter kinda insisted I do… Seemed unnecessary but I went with it. Now I feel sincerely duped.

When I sat down at the table to wait for my order the owners young son came up to me showing me toys, which was fine at first but was being very pushy. I don’t usually mind kids for a short period of time but this kid was far too close, so close he was touching while playing with toys and practically in my seat at one point without consent which is not ok. I then playfully asked if he wanted my seat, and told him that it was my seat.
He eventually played a bit further away.
I got my order pretty quickly and the kid opened the door for me and hugged me on the way out. It was kinda cute but I generally am not a fan of kids and it made me uncomfortable. I didn’t want to be mean, I just left. It’s not his fault, his parents didn’t care at all. Not even a blink or a glance.

I got back to my Airbnb and opened my order.

The surf and turf was seemingly all turf. Not a single piece of shrimp or veggies as some pics I saw had. The rice plain and unseasoned. Very disappointing since the first thing I said to the staff is that I like big flavours. I guess the “crab” meat (probably that imitation stuff, seems exactly the same) filled wontons are the turf?? So cheap.

They gave me extra “moon sauce” which they let me sample first and seemed ok but it seems like basic and cheap overly sweet teriyaki sauce to me. They said it was home made but I sincerely doubt it. If it is they could add some flavour.

The wontons barely have any filling, and the filling was just your basic “crab” meat you can buy at the Asian grocery. Literally nothing else. They are greasy and just so very boring. I really wasn’t in the mood for something greasy. Traditionally wontons are boiled or pan fried. What a disappointment.

The fresh spring rolls were fine. Just lettuce and a couple shrimp, maybe a couple pieces of cilantro in each rolled up. No carrot, cucumber, or anything else you’d get anywhere else. The dipping sauce was your basic fish sauce and didn’t suit it. It’s meant for deep fried spring rolls. A spicy peanut sauce would have been much better suited.

I had higher hopes for this place since local reviews were high but hey seem to be cutting corners wherever they can. Which would explain why it was so fast.
Very disappointed.
It honestly kinda ruined my night here. I spent $25 on this?? Ooph. What the heck am I going to do with all these gnarly “wontons”??
Heck, this sucks.

The best spot on Southside to grab some grub after partying the night away. The chicken on a stick with fried rice is legendary.

The owner himself is a whole show. He goes all out to make sure you feel welcomed and takes care of you. He must been a former comedian because he makes conversation out of thin air with ease and has rapid fire comebacks for your replies.

The food itself is a bit pricier but priced accordingly for Southside. You definitely get your money’s worth with the huge portion that the food comes in.

Some of the food is while some of the food is meh. I highly recommend the shrimp spring rolls and chicken on a stick.

This little place has amazing food. I had chicken “shish kabobs,” and even though it was not on a stick, it was the juiciest, tastiest chicken ever! It came with choice of rice and “moon sauce,” which was a sweet sauce. I also got the shrimp spring rolls which were super fresh and delicious. My daughter got the vegetable and tofu soup and loved it. Staff was kind and conscientious, too. Will definitely find this place again if in Pittsburgh.
