There was no line today, because of the rain.
The sandwich was made fresh and served hot. There are a few options. I ordered the garlic and mushroom Philly cheesesteak.
It’s cash only and I went prepared with cash on hand.
It’s a nice shop on the corner with about 5-6 tables.
About a year ago my co worker told me about Vito’s. It’s a bit out of the way and very limited hours, so it took a while to get around to going.
Very glad I did.
I arrived at 12:01 PM on a weekday. 30 people in line in front of me. Only took about 28 minutes to be next to order. Impressive pace.
Sandwich was very well seasoned, flavorful and juicy. Incredibly well priced. I got the 16’, which is way too much for one person. 16’ is two sandwiches!
Key lime pie was great.
Jalapeño sauces was phenomenal.
Alfredo sauce was good.
He ran out by 12:31.
They do a great job communicating when they will be running out.
Anyone in line can stay in line, and they simply place a sign on the door to let new customer know they won’t be able to be served that day.
Glad a went for the experience. A Sandwhich to remember and lust after.
Just know if you arrive later than 12:00 PM, you may be too late.
On a side note, I expected the service to be cold and not personable given the reputation for selling out, closing early and having to help so many people so fast.
Boy was I wrong. Service was incredibly friendly. Felt like a true mom and pop place.
10/10.
With cash only and tax/drink/chips included, the service is spartan in the most delightfully East Coast way (you actually dump your bills into a bucket under the counter!).
Be sure to go on the early side since they’re known to sell out for the day.
If I could reliably walk in here up any time between 11am-2pm and get a Philly within 5-10 minutes of showing up, it’d be the easiest 5 star review I ever gave. That’s unfortunately not the reality.
We shared the classic cheesesteak with grilled onions on the side.
The sub did NOT disappoint. It was incredible!
The shaved ribeye was very flavorful and tender, the provolone melty with the perfect amount of mayo. They did not skimp on the steak— that is for sure! The grinder roll was chewy and fresh, with just the right amount of crunch. We did not get “hots”, added to our sub, however.
Lynn, the owner greeted us and took our order. She was delightful! She and her husband “Vito” just opened the place recently…
They own several other successful restaurants back in Maryland.
I highly recommend the place—and give it a 5 star, especially if a cheesesteak is what you are craving.
In addition to their cheesesteaks, they also have wings, smash burgers, and a variety of sides.
The place is recently renovated, very clean, and comfortable.
Vito’s is a terrific spot to stop for a delicious, quick bite!
We will be back!!
Text him the day before for large orders.
Every order comes with chips and a drink. If you’re with a friend, you can order a 16″ and tell him you’re sharing – he’ll serve it as two 8″.
Cash only, great vibe.
