One of my favorite ice cream places in Ohio! Mitchell’s ice cream is a trademark of Ohio. In a pool of lots of competition(Graters, Handel’s, etc) they continue to shine with the flavors of ice cream they serve and excellent service.
My wife and I always rotate among ice cream places and we’ve determined when it comes to the base layer of ice cream, Mitchell’s does it the best. The base layer of ice cream is always a hit. Even a simple vanilla bean is packed with flavor.
My go-to is always a turtle sundae. I really enjoy the sauces they use for sundae’s. Very rich!
My wife tried the seasonal tiramisu flavor yesterday and loved it. She’s a huge tiramisu lover and she already wants to go back for more.
Highly recommend Mitchell’s to any ice cream fan.

mitchell’s ice cream is delicious, even when it’s below freezing outside. how busy the place is, every day, is a testament to that fact. the only issue I have with this place is their lack of flavors (a lot of the ice cream flavors seem like spins off another flavor, lacking variety….) their seasonal flavors are awesome* (for spring and summer) however, fall and winter <-- especially winter, are miserable. I went to try ALL of the seasonal flavors this month and everything was super terrible, which is not normal for mitchells. they need to work on this. I understand they want to incorporate the season (i.e. eggnog, peppermint stick, cinnamon....) but those flavors just are NOT good as ice cream. the cinnamon induced an immediate cough reflex and the eggnog tasted like a stomach ache.
also, if some of your seasonal flavors are very popular, why wouldn’t you want to add said flavor to your always available ice cream?
it would also be nice to have more sorbet flavors (other than two….) and I wish they’d offer frozen yogurt (I’d be thrilled with plain tart) they certainly don’t look out for those who are lactose intolerant or want a lower fat alternative.

I have a nut allergy. When I ordered, I asked for a taster’s duo of Cinnamon and Dark Roast Coffee and informed the employee that I have a nut allergy. After waiting an extended period of time due to the nut allergy protocol, I was excited to receive my ice cream. After my first bite, I could tell that this was neither of the flavors I’d ordered. Upon consulting with the employee who’d scooped my cup, I was informed that I’d been given Cinnamon and AMARETTO COOKIE. Amaretto contains almonds, and the ice cream is prominently listed on the menu as containing nuts.
It is absolutely unacceptable that an employee would still serve a customer an ice cream that contains nuts after having been informed of a nut allergy. Furthermore, it makes no sense why the nut allergy protocol would be bothered with for an ice cream that contains nuts. I don’t understand why neither of these raised a red flag for her, since she should know the contents of what she is serving.
Resolution-wise, I was offered nothing more than an “oops, sorry” and a re-scoop. There should have been a refund given at minimum, but that was not presented as an option.

Husband and I love Mitchell’s. Diverse flavors that all taste good. Literally have not tried one ice cream that didn’t taste as described. I’ve expanded my “regular “ ice cream order because it’s so hard to choose everyone we go in. Love that they do seasonal flavors. Workers are always polite and helpful.

We had a chocolate mint ice cream with hot forget for my wife… and their turtle sundae, which had chocolate peanutbuttter ice cream, hot carmel, fudge, pecans wiped cream, and a burgandy cherry It was delicious! the staff was amazing, and the line was out the door at 8:45 and was moving quickly. Chloe gave us multiple samples to try and suggested the peanut butter chocolate, which had the best flavor.
Home made ad delicious!

May 2025. Great ice cream but crummy seating area. Had the butter pecan and the one with cherry chocolate chunks. Rate the ice cream a 9/10. The parking lot is small and hard to maneuver in. The flow of customers is poor. The dining area looks like the chairs and tables were from a kindergarten.

Best ice cream in the area. There were 25 people in front of us but it only took 5 minutes to put our order in. The 8 person crew was speedy & terrific. What a great place to work if your looking for a job. They looked like they were enjoying their selves making our ice cream treats as we all were eating it. Kudos to the crew!

Mitchell’s staff was very nice and kindly let us taste some flavors before making our final decision. We got the “triple” to split. Caramel brownie, double chocolate and pistachio! All were so good.

I love bringing my kids here. The atmosphere is so inviting and the staff is exceptional. And the ice cream!!!! No words, so good! Tin Roof pictured, delicious. There’s kids tables with paper and crayons to occupy the kiddos and even make a great winter playdate with friends. One more shout out to the young ladies that work here! So pleasant and kind!
