TABU is pure upscale luxury from the moment you walk in. The vibe is modern elite and unapologetically polished. We went to celebrate my graduation and it could not have been a better choice. This place delivers on experience atmosphere and food.
The interior feels like an exclusive adventure. Plush velvet seating rich textures and a stunning projector animation moving across the ceiling make the space feel immersive and dramatic. The mirrored wall is absolutely beautiful and a perfect spot for photos. Every detail feels intentional and elevated.
Now the food. Amazing spectacular give me 20. I had the wagyu steak with papas bravas and it was incredibly tender perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My husband ordered the lobster which was sweet in the best way and cooked just right. My girls had the salmon and they loved it which says a lot. I ordered a margarita from the libations menu and it was divine balanced smooth and memorable.
We finished the night with cheesecake and literal fireworks which made the celebration feel extra special. Special shout out to the cauliflower appetizer. You must try it.
TABU is luxury done right and a perfect place for a milestone celebration.

Atmosphere was great, but disappointed with the food. I ordered marry me pechuga and the chicken breast was practically non existent from how thin it was. I paid $56 for a coke and my plate and was shocked by how small the portion was. Since the chicken is the main part of the dish, the portion size made the meal feel very overpriced and not worth the cost. Thin chicken, 4 pieces of brócoli and mashed potatoes. I hope the restaurant considers improving portion sizes to better match their pricing. Wish I took a picture of my plate, practically took 2 bites to finish the chicken. I arrived to the restaurant hungry and left hungry. Also, my family ordered water, the water served was expired. It expired November 2025. I had also originally ordered cucumber lemonade but it was returned and exchanged for a coke. The presentation of the drink was nice, but lacked taste. If you look at the water shown in the background, you could see the bottle shows it expired in year, 2025. Will not come here again, ridiculous. We also paid $37 for a SLICE of cheesecake.

Exceptional tableside service and food. Exceeds expectations when it comes to taste, service, presentation, and atmosphere. Greatly recommend it. The tomahawk steak was charred to perfection on the outside and juicy and buttery.
Must try appetizer: baked cauliflower

Went to the Valentine’s Dinner event this past Saturday. DO NOT EAT HERE. I cannot believe they were trying to have us pay $95 per person to eat that horrible food. We didn’t even begin to eat it. Once it came to our table and noticed the cafeteria style steak and horribly dry chicken we knew could not in good faith pay for that.
What’s worse is the table next to us had the same issue with food quality. The lady to our left sent her steak back FIVE times! That was an immediate red flag for me.
I asked the waiter to close us out and that we were only going to pay for our drinks.
He went to the back to discuss with the manager I guess. After 30 minutes, he came back gave us our checks and did not say a word.
We left immediately afterward.
This place was a complete ripoff, but at least we did not get stuck paying the price for such horrible food and horrible experience.
0/10. Never going here again.

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time as part of a party of nine on a Sunday. We were the first to arrive and, for most of our visit, the only guests there.
The atmosphere was great and the space itself was very nice.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations, especially for the price. I originally wanted to order the salmon but was told there was no seafood available. I ended up ordering the Pollo de Tabú, but the chicken was dry and the broccoli was cold.
Several people in my group also ordered chicken and mentioned that theirs was overcooked as well. Overall, the food felt mediocre and overpriced.
Before leaving, we attempted to take a photo by the mirror wall, something many customers do, but the lights were not working. We were told, “The lights didn’t want to turn on today,” which was disappointing.
The only truly exceptional part of our visit was the service — the staff was attentive and kind. However, for it being my first visit, and considering we were the only customers at the time, I expected much more. Overall, this place felt overrated, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

We visit this well known restaurant in McAllen with a group of only 4 guest and I find it very odd that we get charged an 18% charge fee for a party of 4 guest . Anywhere we go , as we all know is your birthday and they usually complement you with a piece of cake and sing to u . Well here at Tabu they charge 20 dlls fee on top for that too . I’m a little disappointed because we were exited to try it out . Now we know for their excessive charges to go enjoy a night out there . Take care of your costumers because after this I don’t think I’ll be going back . Service was not excellent . ☹️

My husband and I came to Tabu for the first time and absolutely LOVED the experience. The lighting, and atmosphere were very welcoming. The earthy feel and mood lighting made the whole room feel very warm and cozy. Our server Alan was very welcoming and enthusiastic making sure we were well taken care of the entire dining experience. We got the chance to meet the chef and one of the managers, TOP TIER professionalism, and the whole staff was very attentive. We had a great time at Tabu, and will be back soon. Special regards to Joanna for being so sweet to take our picture, and tell us about the other dining opportunities like Amazon and the Jungle. We are so grateful for our time tonight!

DO NOT I say DO NOT come to this restaurant…went for our valentines dinner and it was horrible. I will never be coming back here again. Not only were the prices outrageous but the food was just so bad. They had a 100 per person special that included a 3 meal course, which it was just me and my husband that went tell me why we got charged over 300 dollars for what for food that tasted like cafeteria food. Our total should of been around 220 only for what we got…where did the other money we got charged come from?? The potato soup had no flavor the rice that was under the meat was so nasty like if it was sitting there for days it was so unappetizing. For a Valentine’s Day dinner we would expect having at least fresh made food but no everything was already pre made and cold nothing was good to eat not even the dessert. I will never be coming back here again it was the first and last time. This place was a disappointment and for what we paid was insane. We literally did all the 3 meal course in less than 30 minutes because the food was just so bad to even eat I should of just taken myself to McDonald’s instead of spending over $300 dollars on some cold nasty food. Please don’t come and eat here for a date or at all they will scam you and make you pay way more of what you should be paying….this place is overpriced for the cold food they are serving.

The restaurant pre-made the meals before we arrived, and the steak was automatically cooked medium-well with no option to choose the temperature. For a Valentine’s dinner at this price point, not being able to select how your meat is cooked is unacceptable. The food tasted like it had been sitting out, not freshly prepared to order.
We also felt rushed the entire time, which completely took away from what was supposed to be a romantic, relaxed evening. To top it off, the brownie dessert was hard and dry — clearly not fresh.
