Visited Restaurant Iron with friends for dinner and it was definitely a treat! We were seated immediately upon arriving and were greeted by our server. We skipped appetizers to ensure we left room for our dinner. The butternut squash soup was delicious! The short rib and pasta was made to perfection. I was disappointed with the cheeseburger as they had no lettuce or tomato to add. It was plain and would recommend something different on the menu. We ended with their seasonal crème brûlée which was very creamy. The restaurant lighting was dim and quiet. My only recommendation was to have the server visit the table sooner to order. There seemed to be long periods where we were waiting for her to arrive and take our order.

This restaurant has earned my favorite place to send people to eat when asked my favorite local restaurant! From the service to the experience, to the meal itself- everything was a 10/10. We made reservations and were quickly seated upon arrival. The restaurant is quiet, but you are sat close together. Our server explained the menu in great depth and helped us select our meals. I have never had every single bite of anything and everything we ordered taste so outstanding to the point you can’t pick one favorite part. The appetizers, the main course, the dessert and the coffee- all of it was pure perfection. I now send all of my employees here for their meal when they reach their anniversary date, as it is a great experience EVERY SINGLE TIME.

The food, service, atmosphere were all amazing! The food was extremely delicious and coupled with a custom cocktail (i had a Manhattan)…my taste buds were experiencing euphoria. The staff and service were amazing too! Our waitress was so nice, funny, and helpful. We ordered the quail and waffle along with truffle fries for appetizer and we ordered the braised short ribs and chorizo spiced chicken. All of it was delicious but i especially liked the braised shirt rib and the rutabaga mash under it was soooo good! We also had a chocolate nutella desert (cant remember name of it) that was amazing as well and it wasnt overpowered with Nutella flavor.

I highly recommend this place!

I live part time in Pcola and had read many great things about Iron and the reviews on google rate it high. I can say from my experience that for the price points, it falls short in delivering a true high end experience. The menu is compact and we had a good sampling of the dishes offered. Uniformly everything we tried was over salted, overly contrived and lacked complexity of flavor. The Ruben sandwich, had promise but came on a disappointing, commercially made marble rye. A local bakery could have saved this. The $15 dumplings, more appropriately should be called, fried wontons, were plainly horrible. They did, kindly, remove it from our bill. The pork leg brewed soy sauce, that sauced the dumplings was an epic salty fail. The one outstanding, exception on the menu, was the shrimp and grits. Creamy grits, perfectly cooked shrimp and seasoning were fantastic. Presentations were beautiful, giving the impression as the dishes piled in the kitchen window, visible from the dining room, that you were soon to have a great meal. Service was distracted and unfocused. Plates stacked, silver between courses was not replenished without ask, at one point a server passed our table and told my date she had dropped her napkin. Petty, maybe but in a restaurant striving for this level of prestige and fine dining protocol it should have been picked up and offered back to her. Service overall was friendly and in good spirit, just lacking professional touches that would justify the price tag and the upscale approach. The atmosphere was fun.

We went there for lunch. It wasn’t what we were expecting for the price point:

– The chicken skin appetizer was bland and needed the spicy dipping sauce (regular Thai dipping sauce?).

– The blackened chicken sandwich was surprisingly soggy on the bottom making it sloppy to eat, and the chicken filled barely over 1/2 the sandwich. Otherwise, the sandwich was good.

– The grilled cheese, tomato bisque, and pasta salads were pretty good (especially the pasta salad).

– The water cups and the martini glasses smelled like dirty dishes. DISGUSTING!

– When the waitress took our appetizer plates she took our forks off the plates and placed them back on the bare table—at this price point I would have expected new forks.

-Our sodas came out in cans…ummm…this is a $50-$100 per person restaurant…CANS?!?

Save your money and get cleaner service at a street vendor.

I will edit the review after trying lunch menu in the future.
Dinner was ok. When the prices are high I expect the food to wow me, and apps, dinner and dessert just didn’t. The wait staff were very attentive without being intrusive. He provided lots of details about each ingredient in each dish – there are so many ingredients and food processes I didn’t even know what most of it meant. The appetizer chicken wings and roast bites were good, smash burgers ok, and blackened shrimp dish was best of all those. Dessert was a creme brulee and banana coconut cheesecake. Id go back for the creme brulee -but was amazing and unique flavors! The cheesecake was flavorless, the three of us at the table thought so. With all the described ingredients I expected it to have some kind of flavor, but you barely tasted banana (impressive on its own not to have this as banana takes over everything). Texture was good and presentation was outstanding, just no flavor.

Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed some really tasty food and great service! The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The only downside was the ambiance – the atmosphere felt a bit plain. Overall, solid spot!

Wow! The food was delightful with depth in flavors and balance in every way. LB deserves 5 stars as he made the experience so interesting and fun. Plus we learned many things from him. The cocktails were expertly crafted and pleasing to all of the senses. The banana cheesecake was delicious and a work of art. We made another reservation to be sure we could repeat the amazing experience! Hats off to a fabulous service, culinary, cocktail and pastry teams!!!

A true 10 out of 10. Iron restaurant provides elevated southern food at a price that Would be considered higher than average by most standards, but in a beach town it’s about the same prices most seafood establishments. Everything we had was a plus. The cocktails were phenomenal, The food was spectacular, and the desserts were life-changing.
We kept it simple with the Cajun Reuben and the barbecue beef cheek sandwich. My wife had the iron goddess and the iron rose cocktails, but preferred the iron Rose. The iron goddess was very good, but we’re less into tequila and more into gin. Something to consider when you’re choosing one. I had the Smoked old-fashioned, which had a thick piece of bacon on it, which I really enjoyed but the seasonal golden boy cocktail was one of my favorite cocktails that I’ve ever had.
For dessert, we went with the banana cheesecake which was Light in area, but full of flavor. we also had the shortbread which was dense and rich and amazing.

I had an incredible experience dining here with a group of six, where everyone ordered something different, and each dish exceeded expectations. Everything arrived right on time, and the flavors were outstanding. The smoked Old Fashioned was a standout – it came with a generous, perfectly crisp piece of bacon that added a unique touch. I went with the duck, and it was incredibly tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. I also had the bao buns and the peanut butter and jelly appetizer. Both were visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing meal. Without a doubt, I’ll be back the next time I find myself in Pensacola.
