We love Max & Benny’s ♥️♥️
The mish mosh soup is so delish, best around. The challah French toast is sooo delicious, yum yum
I love the bread they give you with your mish mosh soup. I love the scrambled eggs with that delicious sausage.
Then we go to the other side and get some of the BEST desserts♥️♥️
The only thing I have to say is the cashier guy who wears the Fedora hat is so rude & crabby. Should be nicer to paying customers

“Max & Benny’s delivers that Neighbor Proof–level consistency with real local trust that Northern Illinois families have counted on for years.” The food is always fresh, the service is warm, and the entire place runs with the kind of steady professionalism that makes it a true community landmark. Their deli classics come out exactly the way you expect every time, and the staff treats you like a regular whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth. It’s the kind of reliable, story‑rich spot that shows why Northbrook has such a strong neighborhood identity. A dependable, welcoming experience that continues to earn its reputation.

From the minute you walk through the doors there is this amazing feeling of warmth and hospitality that is refreshing The menu has all the deli hits. I have been several times and everything was delicious. If you want good food and a top notch staff you can’t go wrong having a meal here.

Had a fantastic dine-in experience at Max and Benny’s — easily one of the best Jewish delis I’ve been to.
The corned beef was top-tier: tender, flavorful, and piled high just the way it should be. The matzo ball soup was classic and comforting, with a rich broth and a perfectly fluffy matzo ball. Everything tasted fresh and authentic.
Service was excellent — friendly, efficient, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff really helped make the meal feel welcoming from start to finish.
If you’re looking for traditional deli favorites done right, Max and Benny’s is the place. Highly recommend.

This place is excellent! If you need your corned beef or pastrami fix this is the spot! Mom got the Reuben at potato pancake, Dad got the half corned beef half pastrami! Both were excellent!! Check this place out!

Came here this morning and apparently there was a power outage. The waitress was complaining as we were being seated. She wasn’t friendly and less than efficient.
My avocado toast was so so.. I asked for hard boiled eggs which they accommodated.
The nicest person in the place I believe was a bus boy who helped me get a friend in a wheelchair to the bathroom as the hallway was to small and had a large trash can in the middle of it.
After breakfast that same friend wanted to go to the deli and was excited to get some nova lox. We stood there a while being ignored while at least 6 people behind the counter walked back and forth including 1 guy with his gloves on playing with his cell phone, then using those same gloves to touch food.
After paying the bill the lady that rung us up didn’t even acknowledge when she was being spoken to as she was to busy chatting and ignoring the customer.
I wouldn’t go there again.

It’s a super sized deli and restaurant with an expansive menu of all the delicious food your grandmother used to serve you. Loud and busy, but everyone is happy and the waiters never stop.

Matzoh Ball soup was too salty. Pastrami sandwich was good but kind of bland and it seems to have shrunk since the last time I was hear.

I’ve been a long time patron of Max and Bennys and usually have a great experience. Last visit, I ordered Matzo ball soup, and Reuben and Rachelle, my usual order. After biting into my sandwich, I found hair. Ok this happens occasionally at restaurants, doesn’t make the establishment a bad place! Although, my server Ryan had a long untrimmed beard! While working in the service industry, workers must be aware of sanitary conditions! Yes, this could have been prevented! Cleanliness and personal hygiene should be a top priority while working in the service industry. I will return, although avoid the long bearded dragon (server)…..

Wonderful Jewish deli like in the old days. Food and service are great. Craving lox? Pastrami? A Reuben? And oy do they have some chopped liver! Definitely worth a visit. And lots of bakery and prepared to go food as well. You can’t lose with this place.
