I don’t think I’ve ever started a review by talking about customer service, but the interaction here was genuinely exceptional—warm, personal, and sincere. It was refreshing to be greeted with such a pleasant, wholehearted conversation.
The food was outstanding. We appreciated the staff’s input; they made excellent recommendations, encouraging us to share the rice and naan and to add an okra side dish—which, by the way, was absolutely delightful. Portion sizes were spot on.
The lamb was everything we hoped for—tender, moist, and rich. The drinks were great as well, topped off with a very generous serving of complimentary shots, some of which were for my birthday, on the house.
Overall, it was an amazing meal with outstanding service at a surprisingly affordable price. I’m excited to say we’ve found our new favourite restaurant in Newcastle, and we will absolutely be returning.
The menu is extensive, offering a great selection of traditional Indian dishes, along with a very good wine list and a solid choice of beers. On my visits, I’ve tried the Goan fish curry and the grilled masala fish as mains — both were excellent. I particularly love the combination of curry flavours with fish and seafood; it’s rich, fragrant and beautifully balanced.
I usually pair my main with saffron pulao rice or garlic naan, which complement the dishes perfectly. The Poppadom Bowl with its homemade chutneys is also a must for me, I wouldn’t skip it.
The service is consistently good and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommended.
Adil greeted us as soon as we walked in and addressed me by name. Very polite, attentive and professional service. The rest of the staff were great also showing that standards start from the top.
The bill came and I was surprised at how good the price was (obviously everything was priced but I didn’t really pay attention to them).
overall there’s not a single thing I could fault.
service was above and beyond.
food was simply devine and a perfect portion size
and the price was outstanding.
I can’t wait to visit again 15/10 ❤️
We also had the chilli garlic chicken, chicken jalfrezi, Karahi paneer, and crispy bhindi dopiaza. All of it was phenomenal. The paneer was sooo smooth and everything was wonderfully spiced. The dopiaza was batter fried which surprised me, but still delicious!
I have tried the likes of khai khai and imo it doesn’t come close although very good.
The food here is outstanding! Great friendly service & for the quality of ingredients a very fair price.
Nice cosy setting and a good atmosphere as its always full. I’ll be back in February.
Well done Simla
