However, the kaisen roll was a complete let down and was the weakest link.
I also would like to give an honourable mention to the hojicha tiramisu, which was delicious.
The service was very mediocre; for the price we are paying, I was expecting more. There were a lot of employees around us, but it took a very long time to catch their attention for anything; one of them seemed more focused on tables with businessmen and chatting with them.
Shared their Edomae Selection which includes traditional sushi and hosomaki (10pcs) including complimentary miso soup. In addition, added the Truffle Dashi Pork Gyoza (5pc) and the Aburi Yellowtail Oshi Sushi (4pcs).
It is a refreshing and creative Japanese tapas experience. Although, it can be a bit more on the pricey side; it is good value based on the quality and care of the ingredients used in each dish.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience based on the lunch menu on a weekend. The ambiance at Minami is fitted especially for special occasions and date nights. Check Minami out for some delicious Aburi sushi and their other menu items!
I am not very educated about Japanese cuisine especially sushi, but fortunately they had a meal program 4 course with 3 wines.
The appetizer had oyster and a very crisp wine that as the servers described and I do agree paired perfectly.
Then we were presented with sushi, around 6 of them with salmon, tiger fish and few others that I dont remember, 2 of them were well torched. Each sushi was packed with perfectly nourishing flavours, with wasabi and soya sauce.
The main course had, rice and salmon and a very fruity wine.
Desserts was matcha flavoured ice cream.
Most important part of all food was they were really fresh, I believe fish of any kind is best consumed as fresh as possible, and with open heart and palette I can say it was damn fresh, and each bite will give you that experience.
Moving to ambience, it had beautiful, warm and eye catching aura that you will enjoy. With light music and good lighting you don’t feel rush and to enjoy the moment.
Last but not the least the service was awesome, our serve would describe each food and wine so much detail that you remember that in each bite and would be able to relate. Really phenomenal
If you are looking for fancy date night spot you should definitely try this to impress.
Amazing service. We came for a late lunch. Our reservation was at 3 but we got there early and they were able to accommodate.
The cooked food was alright, it was good but it didn’t really stand out. The sushi was delicious enjoyable especially the scallops. Only thing was that there were a lot of fruit flies in the restaurant so we had to constantly swat them away
!!! ask for tap water, otherwise they will just charge you 3bucks per person for the water (since when restaurants here follow European customs now )
– Their plating and atmosphere are amazing .
– food portion is very small. We had 3 courses from the winterlicious, but ended up hopping to another restaurant to fill our stomachs. Cocktails portion is very small as well
– their sushi quality is average.
Easy to find the restaurant.
The staffs were very pleasant.
The menu is very easy to navigate
I order the Brussels with bacon, I had to say the bacon was almost the same sime of Brussels if it was cut in smaller piece I would enjoyed it more. The soup was the right temperature and the right amount .
My friends husband’s order the calamari and he loved it there was so much flavor the broccolini was extremely good the sauce that was under it was just too good ! I think it was a peanut seaseme sauce.
I had the yellowtail oshi … I have to said not having sushi with soy sauce you taste everything there are so many flavors I would have other a second round of it.
The carrot cake had to be the best carrot I had ans there something on top it maybe a grated caramel carrot very delicious.
I would recommend this place for anyone who want to try a different kind of Japanese cuisine
