Piropos Restaurant “A Taste of Argentina well served”

  4.6 – 1,380 reviews   • Steak house

Social Profile:

The taste of Argentina is very American Midwestern but different enough to hold the enjoyment and interest of Kansas City diners. The foods are grilled meats, seafood, fresh salads and vegetables. It is a very diverse culture and the food reflects that with a touch of Spanish, Italian (there are about as many Italian names listed in the BA phone directory as there are Spanish), French and other ethnic foods. The food is simple and not particularly spicy, yet it is very flavorful. Authentic recipes and imported ingredients, including spices, salts, and dessert items will be used at Piropos. Many of the recipes will come from Cristina Worden, Piropos’ owner. Some of Argentina’s best wines will be served.

Sophisticated Argentinean steakhouse with views of the city from its white-tablecloth setting.

What a delightful experience we had here! Piropos is not only in a great location, it offers wonderful food and a dining experience that you’ll want to share with your friends and family!
We came in on a snowy evening and the atmosphere was just right; warm & welcoming, perfect lighting and the friendliest staff! The food we chose was just incredible; not pictured is the empanadas because they were so delicious I forgot to snap a photo of them before we devoured the entire dish. We chose two of their specials for the evening (filet and medallions) and ended with ended with a red velvet cake for dessert. The steaks were prepared with perfection and the risotto was creamy and so full of flavor, I can’t wait to come again to try more of their fantastic menu!
It was a dark evening, but I’m sure the view of downton KC during daylight hours is spectacular! We will definitely keep this little gem on our radar for another special dining experience in the future, highly recommended!

We celebrated Valentine’s weekend at this Piropos Argentina steakhouse and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was warm and romantic, perfect for a special night out. The steak was cooked perfectly — tender, flavorful, and enhanced by delicious chimichurri. The empanadas were great starters.
Even though it was a busy weekend, the service was attentive and never rushed. A fantastic spot for a romantic dinner — we’ll definitely be back.

What can I say? What can I not say? I dont even know. For some reason this place has a late 90s vibe. The slightly post modern neo tuscan architecture, the arched/fanned windows.. I feel like a kansas city Patrick Bateman looking over my kingdom. I requested a skyline view table and I absolutely recieved it. The food was great, the service was great. Im singing praises. I love this new hidden place that feels like its all mine. I cant believe, as a kansas city native ive never been here before. Love love. If youre reading this go try it. ❤️❤️

Really cute place especially with the decorations during the holidays! We ordered 3 empanadas which were all very flavorful and the dough was light and crispy- highly recommend! For mains we got the mixed grill and peppercorn encrusted fillet. The mixed grill was supposed to be served with salmon that night, but the kitchen gave me a white fish. Our waiter recognized on the plate when he came to check on the table and said he would have the kitchen put in a little piece of salmon to make up for it which was nice of him. Unfortunately the scallops were overcooked and rubbery and the mixed grill felt like it had been on the counter or a hot plate for a little bit before being brought to the table because none of the seafood was truly hot when it arrived. For dessert we got the banana cake and we’d highly recommend everyone try it!! Aside from the hiccups in food, the service was fantastic and I’d come back many times even just for the empanadas and dessert.

My husband took me here for my birthday. Made reservations, changed them ahead of time online and beat a rush of people who had to wait. The food was delicious and presented very well.

We parked on the lower level by a dentistry office. There’s additional parking higher to avoid the stairs (which we did walk up and down to get back to our car).

Loved the sauces and calamari. The birthday cake was also.very good. My mix meal was good but the scallops were overcooked. No i did not complain I ate them and enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. Very good strawberry lemonade with basil.

I dined here during restaurant week and was impressed! The food was delicious; I’ve never had Argentinian food before so I can’t comment on the authenticity, but it was still good.

The hostess was very sweet, and our waiter was prompt and professional. Overall a great experience, and will definitely be returning in the future!

From the bread service and empanadas to the ice cream special and the banana cake, everything was spectacular! My tenderloin medallions may have been the most perfectly seasoned beef I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. Our server wasn’t overly personable, but she was great at her job. Beautiful views of downtown and a cute and quirky atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Went here for KC Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. The food and atmosphere was wonderful, although we did feel like our waiter was rushing us throughout the meal, bringing a new course out when we weren’t even done eating the current one. Our favorites were the pulpettas (meatballs) and our main courses the porkchops and short ribs were amazing. We definitely can’t wait to go back.

Food and service were great. Best calamari I’ve had for a long time. We arrived for an early dinner and beat the rush by about 20 minutes-on a Tuesday! Word to the wise, there are 2 separate parking and access areas. The lower one has you taking the stairs up to the main dining area. The upper has you walking in proximal to the bar. My one down point is that I had made reservations ahead of time, requesting a quiet area to sit in to celebrate my wife’s birthday. As we arrived early, I could see many options for 2 that were bypassed enroute to placing us on a long cushion seating in the midst of others. Not ideal, but I guess I should’ve spoke up. Nevertheless, the food was good with proportions that allowed us to enjoy a small desert and still make it down the stairs successfully.
