Something has to be said about the amount of food moving through this place. Every table is full, and you maaaybe wait 15 minutes for your food. The staff is extremely friendly, and evwry time I bring my kid in they treat him like one of their own. It’s solid diner food. It won’t blow your socks off, but its consistently good. Definitely a vibe here, and something Odessa should be proud to have.

Everything on the menu is good and authentic. Try the Menudo on the weekend. It’s clean not greasy and served bowl full of meat. Unlike other places that serve it full of hominy and little meat.

Dumplins Y Amigos absolutely delivers when it comes to breakfast. I ordered the omelet with hash browns, biscuits and gravy, and a sweet tea and every bite was outstanding.

The omelet was cooked to perfection: fluffy, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way they should be. The biscuits were warm, buttery, and smothered in rich, homemade gravy that was full of flavor without being too heavy. To top it off, the sweet tea was perfectly brewed and refreshing.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh, like it was made from scratch with care. It’s rare to find a breakfast spot where every single item hits the mark, but Dumplins Y Amigos pulls it off effortlessly.

Hands down, this is the best breakfast in Odessa. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out.

Food was bland. Cornbread tasted made, frozen, and then rethawed or warmed to serve. Almost a stale taste. Chicken and dumplings were nothing to write home about. Chicken fried steak was good but the gravy needed seasoning and tasted straight out of a cheap package. Service was good for a busy morning on Sunday. Other than that drinks stayed full and food was served quick. Even with a full house wait time was about 30 minutes. Which was nice.

Coffee tasted watered down. First cup seemed old and was cold. Asked for a fresh cup. Food was bland and lacked flavor. Wondered, is this how the cooks like their food or maybe they just didn’t feel like working. Nothing on our plates was to rave about. Average pancakes almost seemed like they could be frozen. McDonald’s pancakes are better than that! Place seemed to be for regulars and maybe ones that just need a cooked meal. Waitress was nice and attentive.

I wanted to eat here because I love their biscuits and I wanted pancakes. It is a very busy place. The waitresses are great. Our order was taken right away and we waited maybe 5 minutes for our food. The food was great! It is now my favorite place to eat breakfast. The rest of the menu was great as well.

Review of Dumplins and Amigos

Dumplins and Amigos is the kind of hidden gem that you’re always hoping to find when you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying meal and an inviting atmosphere. Nestled in a cozy location, this spot perfectly balances comfort food with excellent service, making it a go-to place for breakfast, lunch, or just whenever you’re craving something delicious.

From the moment I walked in, I felt at home. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, which is becoming a rarity these days. You can tell that the team at Dumplins and Amigos takes pride in what they do and genuinely values their customers. It’s not just about the food here—it’s about creating an experience that keeps you coming back for more.

Now, let’s talk about the breakfast. I opted for the 3 Meat Platter with French toast, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing. The platter came loaded with generous portions of crispy bacon, savory sausage, and perfectly cooked ham. Each bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The French toast was the star of the show—thick, golden-brown slices with just the right amount of sweetness. They were soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the edges, and dusted with powdered sugar that melted into the warm syrup. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you thinking about it long after you’ve left.

What I appreciated most about the breakfast wasn’t just the quality of the food but the attention to detail. Everything was hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. It’s obvious that Dumplins and Amigos uses high-quality ingredients, and they don’t cut corners. Whether it’s the perfectly seasoned meats or the buttery, fluffy texture of the French toast, every element of the meal was spot-on.

The environment adds to the charm. The décor is inviting and relaxed, striking the perfect balance between rustic and homey. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time enjoying your meal, whether you’re with friends, family, or just treating yourself. The staff checks in at just the right intervals—attentive but never intrusive—making sure your coffee cup is always full and you have everything you need.

What truly sets Dumplins and Amigos apart is the combination of friendly service and exceptional food. It’s clear that the people here love what they do, and that passion shines through in every interaction and every plate they serve. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience that leaves you feeling full and genuinely happy.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Dumplins and Amigos is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu, but for now, I’ll be dreaming about that 3 Meat Platter with French toast. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further. Dumplins and Amigos has earned a permanent spot on my list of favorites.

Was craving a nice brunch after church— but the devil sure did take the wheel on this one.

The ambiance was traditional cafe style, everything was averagely clean.

The food tasted like it was prepared in a very lazy manner. They didn’t go out of their way to add any flavor or a speck of salt/pepper.

1/5 Chips and salsa

The chips were thick and stale and the salsa was water with a couple largely chopped tomatoes and jalapeños

1/5 Huevos Mexicanos

The eggs were very dry and crisp with no flavor.. somehow I couldn’t even taste the jalapeño or tomato (tomato should’ve added some moisture.) They were served with refried beans that were unseasoned and already dry and flakey on top. The hash browns weren’t even edible- they were soggy and tasted like old oil.

1/5 Chorizo plate

Chorizo tasted like it does straight out of the package and then like it was then mixed with the eggs without a drop of salt, pepper, or seasoning.

The melted cheese on the plate glued the beans together so to take a bite the beans had to be severed through.

Flavors remained alike with the plate above for beans and hash browns.

Oh gosh, I almost forgot the worst part

THE TORTILLAS taste like the packaged mission ones. Warmed in a way that made them lose all their pliability.

3/5 The pancakes had decent flavor, however, I’m not sure how long they were sitting out because I had to use a knife to saw through them.
