Why Everyone in Odessa is Talking About Dumplins Y Amigos
Reviews
The omelet was cooked to perfection: fluffy, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way they should be. The biscuits were warm, buttery, and smothered in rich, homemade gravy that was full of flavor without being too heavy. To top it off, the sweet tea was perfectly brewed and refreshing.
Everything tasted incredibly fresh, like it was made from scratch with care. It’s rare to find a breakfast spot where every single item hits the mark, but Dumplins Y Amigos pulls it off effortlessly.
Hands down, this is the best breakfast in Odessa. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out.

From the moment I walked in, I felt at home. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, which is becoming a rarity these days. It’s not just about the food here—it’s about creating an experience that keeps you coming back for more.
Now, let’s talk about the breakfast. I opted for the 3 Meat Platter with French toast, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing. The platter came loaded with generous portions of crispy bacon, savory sausage, and perfectly cooked ham. Each bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The French toast was the star of the show—thick, golden-brown slices with just the right amount of sweetness. They were soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the edges, and dusted with powdered sugar that melted into the warm syrup. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you thinking about it long after you’ve left.
What I appreciated most about the breakfast wasn’t just the quality of the food but the attention to detail. Everything was hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. It’s obvious that Dumplins and Amigos uses high-quality ingredients, and they don’t cut corners. Whether it’s the perfectly seasoned meats or the buttery, fluffy texture of the French toast, every element of the meal was spot-on.
The environment adds to the charm. The décor is inviting and relaxed, striking the perfect balance between rustic and homey. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time enjoying your meal, whether you’re with friends, family, or just treating yourself. The staff checks in at just the right intervals—attentive but never intrusive—making sure your coffee cup is always full and you have everything you need.
What truly sets Dumplins and Amigos apart is the combination of friendly service and exceptional food. It’s clear that the people here love what they do, and that passion shines through in every interaction and every plate they serve. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience that leaves you feeling full and genuinely happy.

The ambiance was traditional cafe style, everything was averagely clean.
The food tasted like it was prepared in a very lazy manner. They didn’t go out of their way to add any flavor or a speck of salt/pepper.
1/5 Chips and salsa
The chips were thick and stale and the salsa was water with a couple largely chopped tomatoes and jalapeños
1/5 Huevos Mexicanos
The eggs were very dry and crisp with no flavor.. somehow I couldn’t even taste the jalapeño or tomato (tomato should’ve added some moisture.) They were served with refried beans that were unseasoned and already dry and flakey on top. The hash browns weren’t even edible- they were soggy and tasted like old oil.
1/5 Chorizo plate
Chorizo tasted like it does straight out of the package and then like it was then mixed with the eggs without a drop of salt, pepper, or seasoning.
The melted cheese on the plate glued the beans together so to take a bite the beans had to be severed through.
Flavors remained alike with the plate above for beans and hash browns.
Oh gosh, I almost forgot the worst part
THE TORTILLAS taste like the packaged mission ones. Warmed in a way that made them lose all their pliability.
3/5 The pancakes had decent flavor, however, I’m not sure how long they were sitting out because I had to use a knife to saw through them.
