We live right around the corner from Grain Station, so it was one of the first places we tried after moving to town — and it quickly became a favorite! The food is always delicious, and the Cobb salad is what first hooked me. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s a great spot for families. Our kids love the coloring pages and crayons, and the kids’ meals come with generous portions of fresh fruit. We love GSBW and keep coming back!

I recently went to this restaurant with my family. I was very disappointed in the service provided as well as the food. At one point we asked for clarification of the menu and the server rolled their eyes as they turned to walk away. The entire place was empty, yet they acted like we were a nuisance and that they were just too busy to even deal with us. A different server brought waters over and before I could ask them a different question she scurried back behind the bar, obviously not wanting to engage. (Remember, we are the ONLY customers currently in the entire restaurant), it didn’t seem like there should have been a huge rush to run back behind the counter. We hadn’t even ordered yet. When we did order we got various items off the breakfast and lunch menus. The breakfast items looked microwaved and very sub-par to what I’ve heard previously from friends who have come here before. I chose the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken tasted like it had all the seasoning boiled out of it, and then was boiled again for good measure. It wad absolutely flavorless. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone unless they are totally desperate for mediocre food and poor service.

Towards the end of our dining experience a couple of high school kids came in and were seated directly behind us. They were very loud and were using foul language with sexual connotations. We promptly left.

I eat breakfast 3-4x a month, your food is amazing. On mid-Weekdays my wife and I get excellent service for breakfast ( older staff) ( We did get a tall young male once and he was great). But on Fridays when we go we get a taller young waitress with black hair. She is young but one of the worst servers I have ever seen. She needs some serious motivational training or even replaced. She doesnt refill coffee’s or waters, she forgets your order, doesnt ask you for hot sauce. Will say she is going to get cream for your coffee yet stand and socialize with the other waitresses while your coffee gets cold. I had to ask the hostess to get the creamer. Then she shows up 5 minutes later with your creamer and acts pissy someone else got it. She gives your business a bed reputation and I will not be served by her a 3rd time. Again all other staff are great and the food is amazing.

Excellent service from time we walked into, to being served food and during our entire time there. All food was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. It was nice to have a great lunch date experience on Valentines Day as well

Had an amazing dinner consisting of a mushroom burger basket & a French dip, both were perfectly cooked & some of the best we ever had. We indulged in a bar drink & a posted mock-tail that heightened our experience n felt like a major splurge. Finally we brought home a piece of pie that was definitely yummy as well. Our server was Morgan & she definitely gave us fabulous service. The entire experience was wonderful & it would surely make me want to return again in the future.

Late lunch Saturday afternoon. A few tables. Seated promptly. Breakfast and lunch menus as well as beer & cocktail menus. Was able to do 3 beer tasters before deciding. Interesting choices. Service and food was amazing! Stout braised Reuben was delicious! Very large portions. We definitely will be back. Great place to bring out of town guests. Worth the short drive from Salem.

My friends and family have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food and customer service. Unfortunately, our experience last week was disappointing. When we called to place a carryout order, the person who answered told us, “we’re too busy for that right now.” We clarified that we only wanted to order and pick up food, not dine in, but were told again, “yeah, we are too busy,” and then the call was hung up.
I understand that restaurants can get overwhelmed and may need to pause carryout orders, but the response felt dismissive and lacked basic courtesy or apology. This was surprising given our many positive experiences in the past. I doubt the owners know this is taking place.
