I recently placed a to-go order at Del Taco #307 in Downtown San Diego, and the experience was mostly good, with some clear positives and a few issues that should not be overlooked.
Starting with the food:
The snack tacos were generously filled with proportionate amounts of ingredients, but several of the shells were broken. Broken shells are always unacceptable, regardless of filling amount, and this detracted from the experience even though the flavor itself was fine.
The Crunchtada tostada was genuinely delightful in taste, but the presentation was messy, with ingredients unevenly distributed. Flavor-wise it delivered, visually it did not.
The carne asada fries were very good. I requested them well done, and they were prepared correctly, crisp and satisfying, which I appreciated.
The Double Del Cheeseburger tasted better than it looked. While the presentation was not particularly neat, the flavor exceeded expectations.
Overall, the food leaned mostly good, with some items clearly better than expected, but there were execution issues, particularly with shell integrity and presentation, that should not be dismissed.
As for customer service, the cashier listed on the receipt, Lupita, was not rude, but also not friendly. The interaction felt rushed and disinterested, lacking the basic courtesy and engagement that define excellent customer service. It was functional, but not welcoming.
In summary:
Good flavor across most items, correct handling of special requests, but avoidable mistakes with broken shells and rushed service. With better attention to detail and a bit more care in customer interaction, this location could noticeably improve.

Holy this place is good. So I came here starving and was wanting some quick food and I pulled up to the drive thru. Rae-Rae (Ray-Ray) hooked me up. Bro recommended the Queso Loaded Fries (secret menu) and holy was it good. My boy also told me how to get a good discount, getting me a 15% off. If you meet Rae-Rae, tell him I love him. If you’re gonna work a job, do it like Rae-Rae.

I experienced extremely slow service. Maybe they were short staffed that might. But it has the usual Fel Taco menu and the food was delicious. They accept EBT. You’d think it wouldn’t be but it’s not in a great area, wouldn’t recommend if you’re in a hurry. Nearby McDonald’s or JackInTheBox are much faster and no one at those restaurants has ever solicited me for money or to try and sell me something.

I went to buy food in order to get access to the restroom which is customers only. The cashier told me they don’t have a key for the restroom! And she said they can still open the door without the key let someone open to you pointing out to the random customers! I asked her how do you use the restroom without the key? She said we have to wait! A complete failure and disrespect to the customers.

I give it 3 stars because this is the first negative experience. I ordered two fish tacos and my tortilla is cold and stiff. I had to wait an extra 15 minutes because they gave me chicken first when I clearly said fish. the only good thing about my order were the churros 10/10. Also my fish tacos got one little nug of fish lol. Paid around $9.00. Guess I’ll have to use my microwave.

I decided to try this place because the nearby Jack In The Box was busy and had nowhere to sit today…
Food was alright and I like how we can refill the drinks on our own. I also like how they offer more seating than Jack In The Box. The bathrooms are locked and funnily enough when I went to discreetly put my card information into the app to order, an employee (who was on break eating) told me the bathrooms were locked up. I replied that I didn’t order yet and she replied they were out of service… Later while I was eating they let someone else into the bathroom.

Fast food, yes, I get it… take the time to double check your order. It wasn’t all bad, but I ordered chili cheese fries with extra cheese, but I got extra chili. ♀️ some people might not complain, which I’m kind of not complaining just saying… overall food was good, service was pleasant from the two people I interacted with. I didn’t rate the atmosphere as I did not go inside. Will I go again, yep.

I am not one to leave reviews often, but I just had the most terrible experience trying to get a quick lunch at Del taco. I was being pressured to order through the drive-through as I was trying to decide what to eat, then the lady, taking my order said she couldn’t hear me I was almost screaming at her And then she finally got my order after five minute. In addition to ordering and paying she proceeded to ask me to move up as she was on a timer and she would hand-deliver my food almost out on the street. I was hesitant to do so, but she said that she was being timed and I needed to move the car immediately. In addition to that I received a burrito that didn’t even have the half pound of beans that was promised, and when I asked for more salsa, she said she was not allowed to give me anymore. Not only will you get terrible service but it’s really not the best location.

Incredibly bad service. Very slow and doesn’t care about anything. I asked for a water after I ordered my food. The food was made and took at least 4 minutes of sitting there before it was put in a bag and given to me. Then I waited another 3 minutes after that for my water cup. The food was not good and needed sauce to be edible. Outside (and sometimes inside) there were shady people. The bathroom was dirty and didn’t have soap. I didn’t feel comfortable to use the dryer.
