This was my first time ever eating African food, and I was absolutely blown away! The Yassa Lamb was outstanding, and so were the rice and plantains. But what I can’t get over is how good the service was. I told my waitress it was my first time, and she took the time to explain the entire menu to me and what she recommended. She was so excited to explain it all to me; it was genuinely the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I cannot wait to come back with family & friends!!!

The atmosphere was great it was definitely clean. I also met the owner and his daughter nice ppl. However the reason I cannot and will not give this restaurant 5 is bcuz the staff here is TERRIBLE. The place was not busy at all there is no reason to we waited for 20mins. Unacceptable… on top of it taking the food long to be served to us. I order the Red snapper and the sides that came with it.(rice) The red snapper is always hot and fresh, but the sides were very much cold. Over all the staff have to get better with their service and be more attentive with their customers. And stop serving cold sides

We were happy to come today and wanted the experience to be awesome.
So….. While the food was good, the service staff left a lot to be desired. We had a party of 11 people, so imagine how much money we were going to spend? A lot. My wife was sorely disappointed from the staff who wouldn’t accommodate a simple request. Then they didn’t bring her order to the table. Training is sorely needed. Did I forget to mention that there were other folks that came in after we were seated who got served, ate and left BEFORE we were all served? It will be some time before we return to Yassa.

☹️ ☹️ ☹️ ☹️ ☹️. #NotHappy. #NotPleased. #NotComingBack

Went to this place because I wanted to try some Nigerian eats but it looks like it has so many different choices like a good variety of African eats which is better. We ended up ordering some fataya, Yassa Lamb, Dibi Lamb Senegal both with Djolof Rice and then we also had a side of plantains. Food was so busss and the serving was HUGE. Definitely try the lamb if you go here. Food was seasoned well. I definitely would come back in the future. VIBES WERE IMMACULATE. They played great RNB songs for me and my king whoever was on the aux that day was bangin! Anyways, 10/10. TRUST

I ordered the Yassa lamb with aloco (sweet plantains) via the Relish app which is what we have at work. It gets delivered to a floor in my building and we pick it up from there. The order was ready by 12:15pm, the temperature was hot. It is very tasty and a very good portion. I will have some reserved for dinner. It is only 4/5 stars because of the packaging. I now make this a crucial criterion in my reviews. But I wouldn’t hesitate to come to the restaurant and order more food!

Visiting from SC. The food was amazing, my first time trying West African food such as this. The fufu was as delicious and sweet and meshed amazingly with the sauce graine. The sauce graine was cooked to perfection with shrimp and beef! Would definitely recommend!

Feels like you’re eating at someone’s house and the food was so good and flavorful. The meat was tender and everything was good. Spice level was also good for me but I would have preferred a bit more heat. Overall would try again and definitely recommend trying this place out. Got too excited to try the chicken and lamb and almost forgot to take a picture – as you can see it was too good to wait!

I’ve been a customer of Yassa for approximately 8 years now. I haven’t dined in in quite some time but I typcially do 4 catered (Yassa Lamb) orders a year for the past 3/4 years now. Unfortunately this experience does not reflect my previous experiences. The meat temperature was terrible, either too rough or too gummy. And for some strange reason ended having more bones then meat in the pan. I understand that cooking on a larger scale can be challenging, however that’s why everyone don’t CATER…. I’m aware there’s been staff changes and unfortunately the catering portion has been affectedtremendously. Cannot continue to justify spending $1400 yearly at this establishment. 1/10

The food at Yassa was delicious. I will definitely go back. I have to subtract one star for the service and the atmosphere.

Our server was polite, but got my order wrong and the person who brought it out just proceeded to leave it when I informed him.

There was a man there handing out leaflets while we were just trying to enjoy a meal. This impacted the experience and I’m unsure why the restaurant allowed him to stay and bother patrons.

I’m giving three stars because most of the traditional dishes were lamb-based. This was my first time trying Senegalese food, and I was really excited. The non-lamb options were mostly curry or other things. But why not offer those same dishes that consist of lamb with chicken? I get that these are traditional recipes, but it might be a good idea to have a chicken option for people like me who aren’t fans of lamb. The fufu was okay, but the food didn’t seem fresh since it came out really fast.

+On a positive note, the staff was super friendly and answered all my questions respectfully.

– food was quite expensive in my opinion
