This is our hands-down favorite Mexican restaurant in Northeast Georgia. We have eaten here for years and have never had anything less than fresh and delicious. All the staff, especially Luz, are welcoming and friendly. Prices are awesome, especially considering the very large portions. Our favorites are the wings, the fajitas, and the California burrito. The Mexican guacamole and ceviche are also excellent. These folks are good people who will go out of their way to make your visit perfect. Ours always is!

I’m a little late to the review here, but felt the need to chime in on one of my top favorite restaurants in the Habersham area! My wife and I go to El Jinente often, maybe once or twice a month if not more. We live nearby, and can even smell the food in the air from time to time, so they are sort of a local family to us. If you want really good Mexican food, go here! It is always clean, always well staffed, always fast, really fast, and always more food than you can eat! Often my wife and I often split one of their huge burritos or whatever order we get, unless we are really hungry, then it’s all our’s! We love the clean-ness of the food, and the flavors! And the smells!!!! The chips and dips they always serve with are fantastic, and we probably go through more of those than we should! We have had almost everything they serve, and favorites are the Deluxe and Veggie burritos, and the discount bowls. I have had their shrimp and they do not skimp! BIG shrimp with whatever they serve! I love their sauces, and their enchilada sauce is fantastic! Often they serve with that amazing white cheese sauce, and their menu tells you what meals come with it! One gets the feeling that family love goes into their cooking, and it shows! Never heavy or laden, always fresh and always easy on the tummy! I can’t eat really spicy food, and they make amazing dishes that are flavorful without being overly spicy! Unless that is what you want of course! They do have the options! A great place , with great service from a wonderful staff and a guarantee of a great meal every time! Every…time! I’ve never had a plate there that I didn’t enjoy! Even when I take a chance! Now, that’s a good restaurant!

Fantastic Mexican food. Great friendly service. My wife had the number 8 combo and I had the Loco Burrito. Both were fantastic. We had to get take out boxes for so much food. The loco burrito covered the whole plate. The steak meat was diced and it was awesome. This is our favorite restaurant in town. We will be back.

Authentic Mexican restaurant with good service.
Lots of uncommon choices on the menu.
You get the customary tortilla chips and a medium heat sauce before your meal.
Cheese Enchiladas: thin and covered in a delicious sauce.
Refried Beans: not boring at all.
Rice: a little dry, but tasty for sure. I put the chips sauce on it and it was delicious.
Burrito: packed solid. Very good.
Service was top notch.
Highly recommend.

My family and I have been eating regularly at El Jinete for years. The food is always quick, fresh, and delicious. The servers are always friendly and top notch. The owners are awesome and have created a family like atmosphere. They have a wide variety of items and speciality drinks on their menu. My family has so many favorite foods on their menu, but some of our frequent “go to” items are the “tacos de pollo asado” and “burrito loco” as shown in the pictures served in the restaurant or their “burrito California” in the to-go picture. Their chips and salsa are addictive. The serving sizes are huge, and we normally eat half at one time and save the other half for lunch the next day. While not shown in the pictures, their “chicken soup” is the best we have ever had and is perfect for any time of year. We highly recommend this restaurant for amazing Mexican food and service.
We also recommend reserving their beautiful, private room (for a nominal fee) for special events.

We were up in North Georgia, so decided to eat here.
The place is huge. Lots of seating and parking.
The food is okay, if you look at my plate it was just piled high with iceberg Lettuce, cheap stuff couldn’t even see my burrito, but the burrito Itself was really good, shredded chicken had flavor and the salsa was great.
The guacamole was good along with the other sides,
The service was great, food was quick.
It’s okay for American Mexican food, but not that great.

Fantastic local Mexican restaurant. Everyone’s good was delicious and the service was great. They interacted well with our kids and the food was prepared so fast. The Shrimp and Tilapia dish was outstanding – shrimp were cooked just right, tilapia was crispy on the outside, but moist on the inside – absolutely would order again!
