The fries were flacid and a bit mushy.
I prefer fries that are double fried and crispy, but not everyone has the same preferences. I get that.
The burger was perfectly cooked, and the server was kind enough to accommodate our request for extra bread with the muscles, which was great.
The portion of fish on the fish and chips was fairly small for the money, but it was well executed. The coleslaw was solid, and the side of mac ‘n’ cheese was pretty good, though a bit expensive for the portion size.
Even with my critique of the pricing and service, I’d still eat here again.
Made a trek to Omaha. Decided to check off the next destination on my Fish & Chips quest! I’d seen pics from Taxi’s and knew I had to try it. Walked in, it was busy but we were seated right away. Cool, old school vibe. Everyone in there looked like they’d just stepped off the golf course . Classic Rock playing in the background.
My husband, not surprisingly, was in a soup mood. I mentioned their signature Cabbage and Blue Cheese variety. He asked about that day’s selection, it was Corn Chowder. He of course got both. Our server couldn’t tell if he was serious. I assured her that he was . He really loved them both. Especially the Chowder. Wouldn’t shut up about it.
They have a selection of Lahvosh. Decided on the Mediterranean one. It looked slightly strange when delivered but it was Delicious! The combo of the Herb Vinaigrette and Havarti alone was worth it, the toppings a bonus!
For an entree my husband went with a Special, the Pork Osso Bucco. I kinda figured the second I heard it. It’s like something you’d find in Medieval times, fit for a Royal Feast . He was in Hog Heaven! It was literally fall off the bone tender and flavorful. He also enjoyed the accompanying Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans.
Fish & Chips time! At first look, the portions were kind of oddly shaped, but what matters is the taste. So Freaking Good! Crispy batter, flaky cod, seasoned perfectly ! Hand cut fries were just as good. Coleslaw was creamy and included Rainbow Carrots! Tartar was pretty boring but I added a bunch of lemon.
I ended with a Pear Drop Martini. Love anything Pear, it was yummy. Absolute Supreme service from Mindy! Definitely a seasoned pro, kind and anticipatory, she even asked us our names. Top 5 in Omaha for Fish & Chips. We had a Wonderful Evening!

On the food side, soup was cold, scampi was pretty good, meatloaf was lukewarm and gravy was so sweet and odd.
Still, the gals at the bar handled the entire experience like rockstars…and made us want to come back for their superstar service!!
Also, who is “Nancy” on the restaurant vm?? There was no answer, except for her vm msg, when we tried to call ahead. On that note hostesses seemed lost as well. Confused.
Ok honest thoughts from us, we will go back, but our expectations will only be the service at the bar by CRYSTIE. She saved the night for u!
Recently We’ve noticed a nasty turn. A corporate turn that needs to stop. We’ve been here recently on numerous Saturdays and everyone seems on edge. This week we decided to put in a reservation which seems to be the norm. What was out of the norm was that the booths which were first come usually became “if you noted that in your reservation you get a booth”. We are ok with playing “by the rules” as long as the rules apply to everyone. We can tell when people are lying or fudging to save face. The corporate person was fudging. She needs to go before customers start to boycotting. I only say this because I want Taxis continue to succeed. We are younger. You need young blood to fill in if you get my drift. Stop the shenanigans and let this cash cow keep producing. This corporate person seems to be trying too hard to make a statement. Her statement is missing the mark. Cheers!
Supper 3 adults 2 children. Food was great! $150. Staff were great. I had the standing pork shank with mashed potatoes and green beans, very good!
Food was great and different in a good way. Limited menu good dessert and drinks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Short on staff. Had a nice time.k
