Good amount of seating.
They rotate people in and out quickly.
At your table is napkins, sauces, chopsticks, soup spoons and sauce dishes which is very convenient.
We had pork chop noodle soup which was flavorful and a huge portion.
The Scalia pancake and mixed dumpling powered was delicious as well. Service was quick. Food was fresh.

This is our second time visiting Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House, and we came back because the food was great last time. We ordered their signature beef noodle soup again — just as delicious as we remembered! The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles are perfectly chewy. We also tried the spicy mixed plate with pig ears and beef tendon, and it was excellent — great texture and seasoning.
We decided to try something new this time: the shredded chicken sour & spicy noodles. The noodles themselves were good, but the sauce wasn’t sour enough for my taste, so it wasn’t as satisfying as the other dishes. That was the only disappointment of the meal.
Overall, still one of our favorite spots in Chinatown for hand-pulled noodles. We will definitely come back, but will stick with the beef noodle soup — highly recommended!

We had a great meal here. They were able to seat our group of 8 immediately. It’s cash only and they accept Venmo. The noodles were so delicious! They have hand drawn (pictured) and sliced which is more of a wide noodle. The broth was flavorful and noodles were perfectly cooked. The sides were also delicious! I loved the sauce that came with the scallion pancake. It was a sweet dipping sauce. The spicy wontons had a bit of a peanut flavor. Service was good and they were helpful in explaining the different items. I would def come again next time I’m in Philly!

Amazing dumplings (recommend the sampler), scallion pancake, and hand pulled noodles. Each dumpling had a unique flavor. The scallion pancake was fried to perfection with each flaky layer standing out. The pulled noodles had the perfect amount of add-ins (vegetables, meats) and a flavor that stood out, but wasn’t overpowering. Service was great from the time I sat down all the way through. It was busy, but the food came out hot and fast. Looks unassuming from the outside, which just adds to the vibe. Only note is that they only take cash or venmo, so be prepared.

Great classic noodles! This is the best noodle restaurant, in my personal beliefs, in Chinatown of Philly! I remember coming here when I was in high school. That’s how long this place has been open for!
I got the knife shaved noodles with lamb, overall very good with no complaints 5/5. The cold jellyfish appetizer is good, but maybe I just had the better version my mom made, so I gotta give this one 4/5. Lastly, the tomato egg noodles my husband got was just okay. It was lacking in flavor, the noodles did not take on the flavor of the soup, 3/5.
I do however recommend anyone visiting Philly to visit this restaurant, given that there’s a variety of noodles and dishes that can satisfy lots of different people. Service is impeccable.

If you have not tried hand pulled noodles, this place might be worth a visit. They have a good diverse menu that offers hand pulled noodles in a wide variety of preparation, both soup style noodles, or fried noodles. Besides the main attraction, they also have a good selection of Dim Sum, and classic Chinese dishes. Portions were large for all of their entrees/dishes. Bring a big appetite when you visit!
The interior has been updated since our last visit. It seems to be more spacious. Staff is very attentive to our needs. I do believe they only take cash, but an ATM machine is available.

Nan Zhou is perfect for a hot bowl of hand pulled noodles. There isn’t a lot to say about this small shop- compared to other spots in Chinatown they focus acutely on their famous noodle bowl and that’s the star attraction, and they don’t do much else. This time I got the braised sliced beef noodle soup, which was spicy and rich with great pickled and leafy elements on the bowl as well. All the other noodle bowls seem pretty much the same but you can swap the protein for something else of your choice.
We also got a chicken skewer and peanut noodle sides which were nice, and standard. This is just a place that is an outstanding value ($14.50 for a huge noodle bowl) that hits the spot when you need it. Service is pleasant and the food came out very quickly. It knows what it’s good at, and is a great option on a cold day!

Nice spot for late night hand pulled noodles. The texture of their homemade noodles is perfect, and the broth is really nice as well. Great for a cold day or night. Loved the different flavored dumplings set as well.
