First off, amazing atmosphere. I love the vibe, the portion sizes are amazing and the STAFF, don’t get me started. I want to specifically point out the manager SUSAN, she was an amazing person to have the pleasure of meeting. Susan made sure to seat me quickly, made sure I was comfortable and was overall really sweet. I had an issue with my food but once it was brung up to Susan she handled it immediately, not only did she get my food made correctly, she made sure I was ok and that really speaks volumes. Great job miyako! Great job Susan!

This was my second time eating here. The first was with a large group for hibachi (which was fantastic and had huge portions) and this time was for sushi with my husband. Everything was fresh, delicious, brought to us quickly and was beautifully presented.

One of my favorite spots in Augusta. Been coming here for years, and even though I moved and haven’t be back in years they still don’t miss. I normally don’t get the salmon, but I tried it and it was good. The rice and veggies are on point, and this is the spot that got me hooked on flavored sake. I have never sat at the grill, so if that experience is different I would not know. Shout out to Rhonda one of the best bar managers in the biz.

We came here for dinner and was not disappointed. I’ve never been so I was excited to try it out
We ordered a few different types of sushi and hibachi meals
We start off strong with vegetable tempura. Not bad at all- I just wish they had mushrooms added to it and more onions
Then came the soup and salad- salad was refreshing, cold and crispy and the soup was flavorful and hot
Sushi arrived and by the accounts of the ones who ordered it, it was very good and none was left on the plate
Filet Mignon hibachi plates came out and it was delicious. Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly, vegetables had lots of flavor and rice was delicious
Waitress was kind, patient and attentive
Overall, it was a great meal and experience and I would like to return

I had lunch at Miyako’s yesterday and wanted to share an honest, thoughtful review based on my experience.

We ordered from the lunch menu, but the pricing felt more in line with dinner, and the portions were quite large for a lunch setting. Personally, I think smaller portions with more appropriate lunch pricing would be more appealing, though I understand that’s a matter of preference.

One of the biggest challenges during our visit was a very strong chemical cleaner smell throughout the dining area. It was extremely distracting and honestly made it difficult to enjoy the experience. The scent reminded me of a strong bathroom cleaner and seemed to be coming from table cleaning. I completely understand the importance of cleanliness, but the intensity of the chemical smell affected my appetite and made it hard to want to stay. A less aromatic cleaning product would greatly improve the dining atmosphere.

Our server was polite, but she didn’t seem particularly happy to be there and service was a bit slow considering the restaurant wasn’t very busy. One meal came out correctly, but the other was incorrect — it was entered as chicken and steak instead of shrimp and steak.

As for the food, it was unfortunately very forgettable. The chicken was dry and tough and didn’t resemble the hibachi-style chicken I’m accustomed to. It tasted as though it had been cooked separately and then tossed in teriyaki sauce at the end, and there was a slightly off flavor. I found myself avoiding the larger pieces. The rice was also unusual for hibachi — very heavy on egg and butter and more reminiscent of buttered rice than traditional hibachi fried rice. The vegetables were cooked well, though slightly salty.

Between the strong chemical smell and the food itself, I barely touched my meal. When we paid and left a tip, there was still quite a bit of food left on the table. We both agreed that we wouldn’t return to dine here.

This experience may simply reflect my personal standards and expectations, but overall, it wasn’t an enjoyable visit for me. I hope this feedback is helpful for anyone considering dining here and for the restaurant as well.

We were greeted by attitude by the manager Susan. We had a party of 5 and they sat us at the booth that would only held 4 people. I politely asked if we could be moved to the bigger booth since we had five people and she told me absolutely not. Then we ordered our food. My daughters food came out and she took one bite of her sushi roll that had sweet potato in it which she is allergic to, the menu did not have the break down of what was in the roll. I told the server, which she was amazing and very professional!!! She said let me get my manager. I said absolutely, the server comes back and says my manager Susan says absolutely not since you even tried the food we can’t take it off (even though she’s allergic to the food) make that make sense when it’s not put on the menu of what was on the sushi roll. I am an operator myself and this is not how you run an operation. It’s unacceptable and unprofessional. I wish you luck with this operation. You might need to start with this manager and retraining her on how to treat customers. I wasn’t asking for a refund. At the end of the day a managers face of care would have been nice.

This has been my favorite place for years; the food is always just as delicious, it has never disappointed me, and the service is excellent. Jocelyn is the one I always ask to serve us because she’s a very nice waitress and is always attentive to our needs.

The only reason we give the atmosphere 4 stars is just because the music selection playing overhead was not family friendly by any means. BUT that aside, the facility was seriously so clean that you could’ve eaten off the floors, our hibachi chef (I’m not sure if that’s the correct term) but he was AMAZING! So personable with the kids, made it enjoyable for everyone, felt like we left as friends! The portions were HUGE, well worth the 20-30$ a plate (that’s with an add on) the sushi was picture perfect, if you go during a busy time where your littles can’t hear the music you seriously will enjoy every second!

The atmosphere is what you’d expect from a strip mall restaurant. Our server was very sweet, but an awful server. Never checked on us once. Not one time. Our apps came out before our entrees and half my order was missing at first. That said, the sushi was Very Good! That’s the saving grace of this place. I’d definitely go back for the food and hopefully we get better service next time.
