So this is the farthest I’ve ever driven to specifically try a restaurant and it was hands down worth the 12-hour trip! I discovered this place on tik tok and I have been watching them make this amazing food every morning and just couldn’t take it anymore and had to come down.

I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and the mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely amazing and I’m probably going to fire my grandmother when I get home. This is everything I would expect when it comes to Southern home cooking. Super nice wait staff from the food line to the table.

Definitely run, don’t walk to the place!

This place is a hit or miss nowadays. The food use to be great and worth it. Lately it has been a bit off. They do on the other hand have some good cabbage and string beans. I would buy a plate of just that.

3/25/22 ordered delivery total order came out to be $70.52. I know with the delivery fee it goes up. I also ordered two meal plates with a large side of green beans and macaroni. Now what I got was not that. I had the smallest portion of green beans and macaroni. Not only that the macaroni was salty. Now if you look at my old pictures those plates were way fuller. Chicken was good that was the only thing worth really eating. The cabbage was burnt as you can see in the picture. I don’t know if this was just a bad day or not. This was definitely not their best.

Izolas has grown with a near cult like following created by tiktok! It’s now a destination dining experience and I can’t imagine better home cooking anywhere in South Georgia, including Cracker Barrel. My wife and I drove an hour and a half and we will be going back.

They have a full service buffet with 20-30 different dishes from fried chicken, collard greens, Mac n cheese and corn bread, to crab stew, shrimp creole and the best bread pudding I’ve ever had in my life! I painstakingly tried a little of everything on the buffet and I must say, I was not mad at anything I ate.

The atmosphere screams Bourbon St with the masks and beads. Pictures of Southern life adorn the walls while zydeco plays in the back. There aren’t many tables so you may have to sit close and meet a stranger. Everyone was super friendly and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive.

I 100%, 10/10 would recommend this place. 5 stars and zero complaints are a rare thing in the food critique world… y’all better recognize

I’ve followed this place on tiktok for a few months now, and let me tell you, well worth the wait! We visited family in Florida and we are from Tennessee, and we were determined to stop in. Luckily, it was only 30 minutes off of the interstate we were on! Delicious southern comfort food. The crab stew was also excellent.
Literally 10/10. Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent environment/experience. Definitely stop by!

Let me start by saying that Tik Tok brought me here… Ok, I’ll give you the good the bad and everything in between with this review.

The Good: I expected this to be only cafeteria style but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they offer buffet that the staff serve for you. The price was very reasonable, considering inflation and the fact that it’s buffet/AYCE. We paid $13.99 for adult buffet and $5.99 for a child’s buffet. We got there as soon as they opened and the food was fresh and hot and drinks are also included in the buffet price. Desserts are not included but they had a big variety of cakes, pies and banana pudding. The waitress was attentive and friendly.

The Bad: The food was very hit and miss. We had the fried and baked chicken, rice with gravy, collard greens, corn, sweet potato, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet cornbread and of course the Mac n cheese. The fried chicken and baked chicken were both seasoned well and was pretty tasty. The sides however was the hit and miss for me. The greens were bland and the corn was extremely bland and kind of hard/dry which is odd because it was sitting in water but the corn was still hard and dry. The mashed potatoes was bland but because the turkey gravy was seasoned, it made it taste better. The side that everyone loves, the Mac n cheese, was pretty good. It was creamy and well seasoned so I can’t complain about that. The sweet cornbread was ok. A bit on the dry side so I only had two bites and couldn’t eat anymore of it. The food overall as a whole for me was a 6.5/10.

Decor: I completely understand the Mardi Gras/New Orleans theme but the decor inside this restaurant was a little over the top. Every wall space and corner was completely filled with beads, clothing, hanging cloths, painting, etc… I found it to be a little more than necessary.

Overall, I rate this place a 6/10. We passed through on our way from jacksonville fl to Augusta Fl. The food looks amazing on the tik toks, but it’s not quite as great as it looks. For the price, it’s decent but not worth the drive for anyone not in town.

The service was quick and friendly. My sister has praised this place since she has been station here. Today i finally agreed to go since she said my Dad loved the food. Maybe my expectations were too high. But the food was mediocre. My greens were underseasoned. Nothing was great but everything was fresh.

one of the best restaurants i’ve ever been too, and i’ve been all over the world. we came from North GA (on October 26th i believe) to visit after seeing Izola’s on tiktok for a long time, and upon learning that they would be closing soon, we knew we had to find a way to get down there. it was so so worth it, the staff were incredible and kind, the food was overwhelmingly good, it was just an overall welcoming, happy place. absolutely going to miss this place.

Immaculate. Great food. Great people.

The fried fish and fried chicken were unbelievable. I suggest trying everything if your stomach can handle it.

Unfortunately I stop eating here awhile ago. The food use to be really good. I ordered the fish and it was cold. Seems like all the vegetables has meat in it. As I told my grandma you no longer need meat to season your vegetables now. I order a small plate for my 3 year old and because breakfast Is based off weight I figured it would only be $3.99-$4.99. Remind you I didn’t get a drink. No it was $7 for this. Definitely not worth the money.
