We recently hosted my dad’s 70th birthday celebration here, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming, the staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind, and the service flowed seamlessly from start to finish.
The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every guest was impressed and kept talking about how delicious everything was. The team went above and beyond to make such a milestone celebration feel special, and it meant the world to our family.
Thank you for helping us create such unforgettable memories for my dad’s 70th birthday. We are so grateful and will absolutely be back. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

We popped in for lunch on a weekend afternoon on a whim and to support Houston Restaurant Week. It was our first time dining here, the service was top notch (Bryce was wonderful!) and the atmosphere was really nice. We tried the bang bang shrimp & “philly” cheesesteak egg roll for apps and had the shrimp & grits as well as the bacon & cheese omelet. Honestly, it wasn’t anything special. The shrimp sauce was overly sweet, though they were cooked well & the breading was perfect. The egg roll was more akin to a 1980’s sloppy Joe in flavor & texture. The omelet was cooked hard, but it was nice the interior bacon was crisp, the potatoes were spiced well and perfectly crisp with softness inside. The shrimp and grits, well the grits were good but the standard sweet & sour style sauce that seemed akin to every American style Chinese takeout restaurant wasn’t appreciated and I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to put a type of tortilla crisps on top, but it definitely didn’t work with flavor or texture to help the dish. The cheese choice with the grits was great, but it, like the bang bang shrimp was too sweet. The cocktail was fun (I had the “walk of shame”) and helped make the afternoon trip to a so-so place sit better.

Great experience! My son and I went for Houston Restaurant Week. The hostess was friendly and seated us right away. The waiter was very helpful and gave us great service. I had the edge salad, my son had the meatball appetizer; both were very good and very generous.

We also had the spinach artichoke dip; neither of us cared for the recipe -too much garlic, not enough artichoke, and a little dry. Not bad, just not to our taste.

I had the Chicken Federale and it was wonderful. Just enough heat in the sauce. The couscous had a great flavor and texture. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Very filling. I took half home.

My son had the filet and was planning to take half home, but ate almost all of it. And he is picky about his steak, so it must have been great!

The bread pudding and brownie were the perfect finishing touches.

I think we plan to go back and give their weekend brunch a try!

Our experience is always amazing. The manager Paul was so attentive and nice. We celebrated my 25th birthday today and the fact that I am finally CANCER FREE. Instead of us sitting in the dining room, he opted to seat us in a room behind the bar. He made my birthday so memorable.I’m so appreciative for managers like Paul! Thank you again.

Outstanding experience from start to finish.
The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional. You can truly feel the care and passion from both the waiter and the chef.
Such a great atmosphere and overall experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! Warm greetings from Ukrainian friends

Happy Hour (Social Hour) at Federal American Grill. The drinks were on point and priced well. All of the food was hot and delicious. Highly recommend the Cheeseburger Egg-rolls and the Sticky Ribs.

We came here for the first time based on the great reviews and arrived around 4:15 PM. Upon entering, we were not greeted. Two employees were at the front desk taking reservations, and there was also a group near the entrance with a staff member handing out phone numbers to non patrons. We waited about ten minutes before anyone acknowledged us, even though most of the tables were empty and there were only a few patrons dining at the time.

Once greeted, we were seated promptly.

For drinks, we ordered an Old Fashioned, a Coke, and water with lemon. Unfortunately, the Old Fashioned was extremely strong and did not taste balanced. I am familiar with what a properly made Old Fashioned should taste like, and this one missed the mark.

For appetizers, we ordered the Ahi Tuna and the Bang Bang Shrimp. The Ahi Tuna was very bland, and the sauce drizzled on the plate did not complement the dish. The Bang Bang Shrimp was lightly fried and topped with what tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce. It was okay, but it did not resemble a traditional Bang Bang style dish.

For entrees, our party ordered the wings, Truffle Stuffed Chicken, and Chicken Fried Chicken. The wings were dry. The Chicken Fried Chicken was comparable to what you might find at a basic roadside diner. The Truffle Stuffed Chicken was unfortunately not edible.

The manager did come over, and we were honest in our feedback. We do dine at higher end restaurants, so our expectations are based on experience. Hearing that certain items were “not their specialty” was surprising. In my opinion, when restaurants try to offer too wide of a menu, it can sometimes result in not executing any particular dish exceptionally well.

We do appreciate the staff, including the manager, for acknowledging that the food was not up to their standard. Our waitress was excellent and attentive. However, it was somewhat unprofessional to pull our server away for a meeting while she had active tables, which delayed our food further.

Overall, I was not impressed. Pricing should reflect quality and flavor. Portion size is not the issue, as I have happily paid premium prices for small plates when the taste justified it. Unfortunately, the flavor and execution here did not meet the pricing or expectations.

Zachary was an amazing server! The manager Charlene herself came and check on us and asked about what drinks we liked. Amazing service! 10 out of 10 would come back.

When we arrived we felt instantly welcomed, the lady opened the door for us with a big frank smile on her face. Our waitress was very nice, informative, helpful and cute calling us “dears” all the time.
The service was great, at a slower pace than other restaurants.
The spinach dip with crab was delicious.
Filet mignon, braised short ribs with risotto and truffle mashed potatoes were incredibly tasty. The chef came to serve us.
The only disappointment was the dessert: the butter cake was extremely dry and way too sweet. I guess it was not good to end a great meal with that so no five stars but we will be back for sure!!

Second visit: really happy with all the service and food except for the dessert, again! The brownie was very dry and didn’t taste fresh. I think they need a new baker…

We will go back but skip any dessert!

We were there for a team celebration! Great restaurant. Good food. The wait staff is excellent. They take good care of you. It gets very noisy during lunch time (and I assume the same during dinner)… wish it was a bit quieter so it is easy to have a conversation. Otherwise, highly recommend this place.
