Honestly, the food was just okay. I was kinda disappointed. The enchilada sauce was really sour in a way I can’t even explain… it just wasn’t that rich, authentic Mexican flavor you normally expect. The carne asada plate was sooo salty. Like extremely salty . It was hard to enjoy because that’s all I could taste.
The only thing I actually liked was the shrimp cocktail that was the only good part of the whole meal. Everything else just didn’t give authentic Mexican flavor like I was hoping for.

The service was alright. Our server wasn’t enthusiastic but was on top of it. She did offer the special, offered to top off our drinks and checked on us which is all great. The food was pretty good but not the best I’ve had. The beans were flavorless and the rest was just alright. No notes.

The food is good, I ordered the large breakfast with bacon waffle eggs and all that, it was good, plenty of meat, only thing was waffle was kind of dry and crumbly on the batter! But still delicious overall! I also ordered Caldo de Pescado y Camaron (fish and shrimp soup) flavor was good and a solid 8 overall, I liked it! Great price, seated fast, I recommend! This is my Go To Spot for Breakfast and Mexican food in Ruidoso now!! Highly recommend and great prices!!

Was not satisfied…. Got a taco salad and a tea and total was $23…. Mind you, it was the worst taco salad ever. Looked like dog food and was salty. Everyone’s food at the table of 6 did not look appetizing and to top it off the guacamole was a brown. Lettuce was wilted and now everyone in my group feels sick. To top it off the waitress was very rude. Will never return. Waste of money.

The service is good, the place is typical of what you would find in southern NM. Food was actually pretty good esp the pico de Gallo that came with chips. It is unfortunate that the red chile sauce was not up to par, for me, it ruined the whole meal; whoever made the Chile sauce mixed in tomatoes and tomato sauce in the chile sauce, It made a real runny and frankly a poor tasting sauce, also made corn tortilla for the enchilada soggy. a real unfortunate thing for a chile purist like me.

Generally good food, but I will never recommend the place after my birthday experience. I got two fajita platters to-go, not a cheap meal but stoked for my birthday. I was refused any cilantro unless I ordered it off the menu, while I was just in to pick up. Cilantro costs $1 a bundle in stores in Ruidoso and was denied a tiny cup…with a $45 order ON MY BIRTHDAY. Fix your management and service and I’ll start telling tourists to come to you again. Til then, I tell tourists I serve to go elsewhere.

Chips and salsa served as soon as we sat down. Super good! I ordered the combination plate that had a ground beef taco, chile relleno, and a chicken enchilada with rice and beans. My husband ordered the shredded beef burrito with rice and beans. We both enjoyed our meal! Sopapillas were delicious, too!

Ordered 4 burritos to go, when using my card to check out, she added her own tip and cleared the screen when I was about to question it. When finalizing the transaction, the option for tip came up again, I declined after already seeing the tip she added for herself. The food is good, but don’t be shady when tipping yourself. This is not good service. When I got the receipt, her tip was there plus the card transaction fee. Do better with your employees cafe Garcia.

What can’t we say about Garcias?? If you’re looking for the best place to stop for true authentic Mexican food, this is the place! It was recommended to us by a local. Food was so so so good!! Our waitress was great! She did forget about one of our people’s beer, she had to ask for it, but no worries. My plate initially came out wrong but they did me right and brought me the right one immediately! This place has the BEST Sweet Iced Tea outside of Texas! And I can say that cause I’ve had tea from a lot of states! Go here! Eat here!! You won’t be disappointed!
