Buzzy modern space for a menu of dim sum and Chinese staples, including plenty of veggie options.

I came here EXPECIALLY for the crispy chilli beef. I have been living abroad for – long time and always been craving this dish since I left. I researched places that served this and came to this place. I strolled in alone at 22.00 and they were super friendly and helpfull. The place is lovely and chilled out. No rush and calming private spacey place yet cozy. The crispy chilly beef was amazing! Just like I remembered it. I been ill so could finish it but it was no problem to take it with me to the hotel. Honestly could eat this every day. Absolutely recommended to come here and try all their dishes. This was top but can imagine their other dishes are just as top.

Unfortunately, my experience here was quite disappointing. I would rate the food 2/10. It didn’t have the authentic Chinese taste at all, which was very surprising given the expectations. We felt that the server guys intentionally messed up our order as we looked around, the food looked better.
To make matters worse, the person taking our order mixed up our dish and brought something completely different. The service also wasn’t pleasant — the server had quite rude behaviour, which made the overall experience even more disappointing.
Sadly, this visit did not meet our expectations.

A Hidden Gem in Manchester!
After a walk through Manchester city centre, we were looking for something different to eat. Everywhere seemed to offer the usual burgers, pizza, or fish and chips but we wanted something more unique.
While wandering down the street, we stumbled upon this place and let me tell you, it was amazing!
The staff were friendly and polite, and the place was spotless.
**The food? Just incredible!**
I had the Thai-style coconut chicken, and it was absolutely packed with flavour—something truly divine. The egg fried rice was also a solid 10/10!
The starter King Prawn: delicious, hot and full of flavour, perfect!
Without a doubt, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester I’ve tried so far.
Well done to the team! We’ll definitely be back.

I had an excellent dining experience at The Rice Bowl in Manchester. The food was absolutely outstanding—every dish was top-notch, but the highlight was definitely the duck. It was incredibly crispy and flavorful, truly a must-try!
The service was exceptional as well. The staff was highly professional, attentive, and efficient—some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. The restaurant’s ambiance perfectly matches its style, creating an inviting and authentic atmosphere.
The overall setting, with its Chinese-inspired decor, adds to the experience, and the price-performance ratio is very reasonable.
If you’re in Manchester, The Rice Bowl is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

A lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The staff are very attentive, and provided free fruit after the meal. Lovely decorations too. We had the beef in black bean sauce noodles, which had so many veg packed in, and chicken noodles

We had the pleasure of coming here for our daughters birthday. Rice Bowl is regular place of dining out as we love the food and the ambience.
Very busy when we got there but was seated in a timely manner.
Service was great and staff were very attentive and lovely.
Food was 10/10 as usual, will definitely be back as we all love eating here.

Well, I have to say, this was possibly the best restaurant I have ever been to in 14 years of living in Manchester and ALL of us loved it! The garlic prawns were so good. The duck was so tasty, the monkfish in thai red sauce, wow. The sizzling steak and black bean tofu, Dim Sum and everything else was superb. We went for our staff Christmas party, 13 of us (from The Peer Hat (please come and see us sometime!)). The service was excellent, the women were most knowledgable and so kind to give me some homemade soy sauce to take home because it was incredible, like sweet but aromatic with star anise. Loved the music too!! Anyway, I will be back and I cannot thank you enough. Happy New Year!!

I would like to start by saying I have never left a negative review online in my life. I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for days on my conference trip to Manchester. At 4:45pm (not as if peak dinner service time, but they were busy) I went to the restaurant by myself and as she went around gathering the numbers for everyone else waiting to be seated, I was told at the host stand that they didn’t have a table for 1 and she would not seat me. I am not an unreasobable person, my parents owned restaurants for 13 years and I know how it can be, but it was rude, and honestly discriminatory, and really upsetting.

Stumbled across this place by accident as we dragged our children about to try find a restaurant to eat at 730 on a Saturday night in Manchester most places wouldn’t let us in with the children, we did wait about 30 mins as there was a queue to get in but the people leaving told us it’s worth the wait so we stuck it out, can’t fault anything the service of the staff was fantastic and they were lovely. The food was outstanding we had the crispy chili beef and crispy orange chicken, the kids shared a chicken fried rice and chips and we also had some wine, next time I’m in Manchester we will def come back and will def recommend to anyone we know heading to Manchester
