Order Balaji Bhavan (Pure Vegetarian) – Menu & Prices – Uber Eats
Reviews
I’ve had South Indian food twice in my life and my friend has never tried it. We ordered the Onion Chili Rava Masala Dosa, Samosa chaat, Pav Bhaji, and Baby Corn Majestic. We also ordered the BB special Dosa per the waitress’ suggestion, which turned out to be our favorite dish. I greatly enjoyed the filter coffee, masala chai and mango lassi too. All the servers were so attentive, lovely and beautiful people 🙂 As non-Indians, we so appreciated how our server proactively asked if we’d been there before and gave great recommendations. The food tasted delicious, some dishes may be a challenge for those not used to some spice. It’s worth it, just get a mango lassi to cool off!
In the end this was a lot of food for two people. I enjoyed the leftovers for the following two meals. No regrets! The total price came out to be $100 which was great considering all that we ordered.
The pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Nothing felt overpriced, just solid value for what you get. Service was exceptional. Everything was served on time, checked in regularly, and was incredibly kind and attentive throughout. That level of hospitality made the experience even better.
Definitely a place I’d go back to without
hesitation.
The front staff was extremely polite, welcoming, and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. Every item we tried was exceptional, and the overall quality of food and service was outstanding. This restaurant truly stands out as the best part of Heights, Jersey City. There are very few proper Indian restaurants nearby, and Balaji Bhavan easily fills that gap.
I’m definitely planning to visit every week and try new dishes. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, pure vegetarian South Indian food in the area!
I have to give a warning for people who don’t prefer spicy food, if they have mentioned in the menu that it’s spicy, they actually men it. The Guntur Karam dosa is spicy and true to the Andhra level of spice
But will definitely recommend
I stumbled upon this famous pure vegetarian spot of jersey city, it was damn packed as always, the service was impeccable, the staff was quite knowledgeable & attentive, they made excellent recommendations, which added to the overall dining experience.
The portion sizes were generous. As for the food, it was exquisite. My favourite dish was JINI DHOSA.❤️
Even rawa dhosa, ghee idli was upto the mark bursting out with authentic flavors & taste.
I will definitely be returning soon.
Must visit vegetarian restaurant!!!
The ghee dosa stood out for its crispness and rich aroma, while the rava dosa was thin, crunchy, and full of flavor. The poori was exceptionally soft and airy, paired with a smooth and well cooked bhaji that felt classic and homely. All three chutneys served alongside the dishes were good, and the sambar had that unmistakable Tamil Nadu tiffin style taste that tied everything together beautifully.
The ambience adds to the overall comfort of the experience. It feels reminiscent of old school wedding style catering halls, with a simple setup and the gentle backdrop of old Tamil songs playing softly. Nothing fancy or forced, just nostalgic and calming, which pairs perfectly with the food and makes you want to slow down and enjoy your meal.
The filter coffee was another pleasant surprise. They ask whether you prefer it strong or mild, which is a thoughtful touch and shows attention to individual preference. One practical aspect worth appreciating is the waiting arrangement. During rush hours, guests can wait in a separate room next door instead of standing outside, which is especially welcome during freezing cold weather. Service overall is decent and efficient, keeping things moving without fuss.
In summary, Balaji Bhavan is a reliable spot for simple, honest South Indian food that feels comforting, familiar, and thoughtfully served, both in taste and atmosphere.
The Punugulu were crispy and light, the Pongal was comforting with just the right texture, and the vadas were hot, crunchy, and airy. The Idly–Vada combo was classic and satisfying. The Weekend Special Thali was the highlight — a generous spread with a great balance of flavors.
Last but not least that atmosphere was soo indian vibe felt like i am in india! So lovely!
Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic and tasty South Indian food!
We were actually supposed to go to a different restaurant, but it was closed so we ended up here by chance. Honestly, we weren’t sure what to expect, but the moment we tasted the food, we were blown away! Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made.
We ordered two of each: Punugulu, Mysore Bonda, Idly, Ghee Idly, and Karam Podi Idly and every single item was amazing. If you’re a foodie and love South Indian tiffins, this place is a must try.
The staff deserves a special mention super friendly, polite, and genuinely welcoming. They gave us chutney every single time we asked (I probably asked around 7-8 times ), and they served it with a smile. Haven’t come across such good hospitality lately. No complaints at all!
The place is completely vegetarian, clean, and perfect for a quick tasty meal. Great portion sizes, great service, and great vibes.
Keep it up, guys! The food is absolutely amazing. Highly recommended!
