Omg, I wonder how many times I’ve been here! I think I’ve tried almost every vegan option I’m interested in!
They have so many vegan versions of Japanese dishes, and I’ve honestly never felt homesick thanks to this restaurant (and that’s not even an exaggeration)!
I’ve tried a lot of their dishes, and I highly recommend the Nasuyaki Roll and Okra Roll with vegan cream cheese!!
The Veggie Bento is also amazing because their Agedashi Tofu is just incredible!
They sometimes have limited-time menus too. If you’re not in the mood for sushi, try their Tempura Plate. It’s really good and comes in quite big portions, probably better to share… but I ate it all by myself
I definitely recommend this place if you’re craving Japanese food in Portland! ✨

Went to Uchu Sushi on Mississippi and had a blast. The spicy habanero margarita was so good, and happy hour made it even better. We tried some rolls, salad, and fried chicken—everything hit the spot. The Ducks game was on at the bar next door which made for a fun vibe without being too loud. Awesome food, great drinks, and a chill atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

We’re visiting Portland from out of town and had the loveliest dinner at UCHU. The sushi was fresh, the chicken katsu was hot and crispy, and the vegetable tempura was delicately fried. Both the server and bartender were incredibly warm and charming. The prices were reasonable too!

The food here is really good. The service is excellent and the vibes are out of this world. I hate to make this review about fish tanks because this is a restaurant and I am sure they want to get positive feedback on their food. And again the food is really good. But if you know anything about reef aquariums, you will know that the reef tank here is out of this world amazing! Like Lechon has really nice aquariums and the one at UCHU makes it look kinda beginner. If you know you know.

Always the best sushi rolls and service. I love that they’re open for lunch, too! Their mouth- watering rolls and drinks are all the reason to go here but the atmosphere is amazing, too, with the coral fish tank along the wall and dim lighting so as not to blast your senses. My go-to sushi joint in all of Portland!

Was a wonderful meal. Speedy service from kind people and absolutely phenomenal food. Got to sit in front of the fish tank and we were very entertained by the fish. We went in for Happy Hour. $35 for a couple rolls, couple appetizers, on top of a tip is very reasonably priced. Love UCHU and would highly recommend!

The sushi was amazing. I got three rolls all about $10 each. They have lots of options for other dishes as well as vegetarian options for rolls. I loved the saltwater aquarium. The atmosphere was lively. I did have a bit of a wait on my food, but it was super busy. The waitress apologized twice. If I’m in the area again I’ll definitely be back!

VERY good sushi. Best salmon either of us had ever had, including at the fish market in Tokyo. It was so good and buttery that we just had to get another round of the sashimi for dessert. Plus a gorgeous saltwater reef tank, delicious sake choices, and friendly staff too, even on new year’s eve when they surely had places they were eager to get to after. Thank you for such a special meal and putting some shine on a great night out!

Great atmosphere, extremely friendly staff with wonderful food to finish the experience off!! Probably the best miso soup I have ever eaten and the Ahi tower was delicious but could use a bit more sauce to finish it off. Tasty Gyoza, well cooked salmon ALL surprisingly well priced as well. We will DEFINITELY be back and YES, you should eat here!
