The place is spotless, and conveniently located off University Parkway in beautiful Sarasota.
We usually get butter chicken and tikka masala, when having Indian food, but wanted to try something different. Our waiter suggested the chicken bhuna, it was packed with veggies and sooo good.
At this restaurant you can find local and international beers, dessert, and they also haves kids menu. lots of parking available and noteworthy…..they are a few doors down from Detwilers!
I tried three dishes: vegetarian paneer tikka masala, lamb bhuna, and chicken jalfrezi. All three were excellent. The medium spice level was perfect—comparable to jalapeño heat, not any hotter than that.
Though the dishes may look small when they arrive, they’re extremely filling. We actually had to take something home and still had a good portion left.
I also tried the mango lassi, which was very fresh and mango-forward, and we got chai tea as well.
And the gulab jamon were as if they were straight from the sweet shop in Calcutta! The chicken curry is like you find in many homes on India! (Home style!)
Chicken Tikka and the baingan bharta (eggplant dish) was my runners up for great food.
So far this is my choice for price, food choice, food quality, atmosphere and service.
Only downfall was we arrived and the buffet dishes were running low but we waited and they were replenished in a decent amount of time.
The gentlemen that waited on us was very kind and attentive.
Will return with friends.
The paneer was fresh, soft, and perfectly cooked, the gravies were rich and flavorful without being overly heavy, and the garlic naan was hot, fluffy, and packed with flavor. You can genuinely taste the quality and authenticity in their food.
The restaurant has a great ambiance, friendly staff, and consistent quality. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food—especially vegetarian options—this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
