Had the Chateaubriand for 2 medium rare and it came with all the fixings. So tender and juicy. Absolutely delicious! We got there just in time on a Friday night. Tables were filling up fast. By the time we got our food there were no tables left. Service was quick.

Impeccably clean establishment. Warm and inviting staff. The food. OMG the food!!! Incredible in presentation y taste. Better than any food we found on the Malecon. This is a must do on the La Paz list. Your loss if you don’t. Thank you El Mezquite staff and chefs!!!

A no frills basic decor place, but the food is delicious. The service is slow so eithet arrive before rush hour or be prepared to wait for a while.

I ordered a fillet mignon, and they cooked it to the perfect rare. If I had known, I’d have asked the sauce to be on the side (it was on top of the stake). It’s not that it’s not good, but there was too much and it took away the taste of the stake). My friend ordered a grilled chicken and she loved it. They had burgers and something else before and said it was amazing, too.

Really, really good. We had the Chateaubriand (about 900 pesos, includes salad, baked potato and mushroom sauce), highly recommend it! Wood grilled, high quality meat. Saw the burgers, they’re massive, may have to try one.

[Edit2: Nov 2024, like anywhere else, prices creeping up, but still good value for what you get. 635 pesos for a decent-sized filet mignon (bacon-wrapped) with mushroom sauce and French fries and the side salad.

Very disapointing… because we were expecting to be like Argentinian style grill, but it is clearly adapting to the American taste.
Meat is boiled before and then just warmed on the grill for 15 sec, came almost cold.
They will also cover all the taste with horrible dressings, that were not even written in the menue and the waiter doesn’t tell you about them.
I had the dressing on my cold baked potato, that I didn’t want, the only thing he did ask me was if I wanted the dressing on the salad, which I only asked for olive oil and vinegar. (luckily I avoided yet another dressing )
My husband had the dressing over his beef filet mignon, thag no one mentioned.
If this happed in Europe, the food would be sent back!
Sorry but the food is not for the European standard and not to our taste and habits.
We don’t mask everything with dressings, gravys and condiments like Americans do!
You would only get the best ingredients, prepared well, no secrets.
Also, vegetables/meat/potato ratio is way off.
Meat size is ok, but vegetables should be way more than just 2 slices of zucchini or 3 leafs of salad.
Sorry, but that is just my observation ‍♀️, I hope it will help you improve and raise your standard.

Fantastic place for a steak / burger dinner. The meal was so filling and comforting. Portions were definitely American sized. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service staff were such sweethearts. The atmosphere was homey. Would definitely recommend for a dinner spot. Solo, couples or families.

The chateaubriand for two was delicious and the portion size was more than enough for my wife and I. It took about 40 minutes to prepare but was worth the wait. We had the steak medium rare and it was super tender. The mushroom gravy was delicious as was the baked potatoes and grilled vegetables. The sangria was also very good.

Back again from last year. This place is still awesome. The Chateaubriand is the best. People came over to our table to take a picture of it when the waiter brought it out. Oh, and the shrimp/mushroom appetizer was pretty tasty and I’m not a big fan of mushrooms. Our friend who ordered it couldn’t stop raving how good it was. Said it was the best she ever had. One more thing, they only accept CASH.
