Mayan Café offers a distinguished dining experience that thoughtfully showcases authentic Mayan and regional Mexican cuisine. We began with the Sikil Pak appetizer, which was exceptionally fresh and well-balanced, setting a strong tone for the meal.

For the entrées, the Chilaquiles were expertly prepared, delivering depth of flavor and a satisfying balance of texture and spice. The Tacos de Pollo were equally well-executed, featuring tender, properly seasoned chicken served on high-quality, house-made tortillas.

The Mayan Manhattan was an excellent accompaniment, skillfully crafted, smooth, and distinctive.

Service by Sadie was exemplary. She was attentive, professional, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience without being intrusive. The restaurant’s ambience was warm, polished, and inviting, making it an ideal setting for a relaxed yet refined meal.

One of our favorite restaurants! We ordered the rabbit entree and guacamole appetizer. A bottle of Blanc Brut was very nice. Marilu was great!

We recently hosted our wedding on the back patio at Mayan Cafe, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, their team went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The space was beautiful, the service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely incredible—our guests are still talking about it!

Mayan Cafe is more than just a restaurant; it’s an event space and caterer that genuinely cares about creating memorable moments. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to help us celebrate our big day.

10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for an intimate event space. Truly the best caterer in Louisville!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mayan Cafe in Louisville on a Monday night, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out.

For my appetizer, I chose the black bean empanada, which was a fantastic start to the meal. The empanada was perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a flavorful black bean mixture that was both hearty and satisfying.

The highlight of the evening was the entrée – the rabbit. It was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, with a rich and savory sauce that complemented the meat beautifully. Every bite was a treat.

To finish off the meal, I indulged in the goat cheese flan for dessert. This was truly phenomenal, with a creamy texture and a lovely fruit topping that added a refreshing sweetness. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner.

The meal was fairly priced, and the restaurant also offered a nice selection of wines to pair with the dishes. Overall, Mayan Cafe provided an exceptional dining experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal in Louisville.

Great experience at Mayan Cafe. We sat outside, which was really nice given how dense it is inside the restaurant.
Food was good, nothing spectacular. Everything was really beautiful and service was good as well. I will say that the food was pretty, but didn’t taste as great as it looked visually.
Chips were amazing and the most unique “dish” we tried. The appetizers were a bit small for the prices. The entrees were decent.
Overall, we might return, but there are better places to be had in Louisville honestly.

I really liked the service and the atmosphere of this restaurant. The waitress was very friendly. The food is delicious! The duck soup with pumpkin is incredibly delicious. The empanadas are delicious. But the duck with vegetables is a bit dry. As a gourmet, I know that juiciness is important in duck, but here it was overcooked and dry. I give it 4 stars because of the main course of dry duck.

Love the Mayan we really lucked out being downtown at the time they opened. My husband had the salmon with some sort of sauce. We had appetizers of salmon on corn tortillas and sweet plantains. I had the three corn tortillas tacos. So Yummy. I had the orange blossom flan. My husband had the vanilla ice cream with berries on top.
Nice atmosphere too.
Hope we get to come back soon.
