I went here for lunch with a large party of 8 and we all had a great time, quick friendly service, great food. We ordered a side of tater tots and it was a huge serving. the Ceasar salad was good but not the best for $21. My husband ordered the Rueben and liked it.
And the gift shop was cute. It offered coffee and bakery refreshments. the workers again were very nice. it offered a HUGE selection of old time feel decorations, food and souvenirs if you are passing through.
The grounds were manicured very well and the ambience of the whole location was very cute for a change vs the regular, typical restaurants. Recommend for families or just yourself.

They did my wedding cake, cookies and cupcakes and did an amazing job back in 2022. Last minute the person who was doing our cookies and cupcakes canceled and they were able to help us and were so kind. My husband and I are locals that grew up in Sandy back when it used to be a small town and tollgate has always had great service and a family like feel and that’s why we chose tollgate over anywhere else. We’ve been going here for over 20 years.

Delicious food, I ordered the triple decker club sandwich with tater tots. I asked the server if the tots could be cajun and she made it happen. Next time I might ask for less bread because I fell asleep after eating that. It was really delicious, it made my tummy happy.

Sufficient. That’s what I can describe this place. When I went there for lunch on a Sunday, it was busy. Real busy. That is possibly why my food took a long time for me to receive.
I had ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs which didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. On the bright side, the plate was huge! The servers were friendly and took care of us the best and quickest they could.
The dining areas seemed clean and that is important for many people reading reviews. What WASN’T clean was the spoon that I got. There was debris on it. That kind of stuff happens but the staff needs to be more mindful of their utensils before they place them.
I would go here again but not during a busy time such as lunch on a Sunday.

I’ve been loving this place since my first visit in 2011,but we have had a disappointing experience today. Before we were seated,I asked if it was ok if we sat in that bigger and brighter room,the hostess said it is a different section and took us to the dingy looking room with the fireplace I personally don’t like. I thought maybe they just wanted to keep all the customers in one room for the waitresses’ convenience,but when I passed by that big room,I saw quite a few customers sitting there hmm I had requested where I’d like to sit before and it was never an issue.
I ordered what I like on the menu the most-an impressive looking and delicious French toast. Well,today it was pathetic,a shadow of what it used to be. Here are some pictures for comparison.
I hope it was a bad toast day and they haven’t started cutting corners…
All in all,it is 2 stars for now (my previous rating was 5),I’d give 1 for my today’s experience,but I am adding an extra star as a benefit of a doubt,hoping they will improve as I love The Tollgate Inn and I know for a fact it can be awesome!
