At our St Ann, MO location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The store was clean and well lit. All tables were stocked, bathroom was maintained and employees were absolutely the nicest ever! It was frigid cold and we sat out front trying to decide if we were going in or using their drive-thru. They do offer both convenient options! We sat out there long enough that their sweet cashier ventured into the cold to make sure we were ok and didn’t need anything. I’m not used to such gregarious and warm personalities this close to the big ol city! I felt the need to come back and edit this as I was in a hurry before. Never thought anyone would read it.

My husband and I both ordered a chicken and fish meal. Fries for him and okra for me. The poor chicken had seen better days from the looks of it (it tasted fine!) but we were there right at close of business. For a business to sell multiple seafood items AND chicken and vegetable items and EVERYTHING NOT SMELL AND TASTE LIKE FISH…. I don’t know if that feat is luck, skill, trade secret, magic (??) but they stand alone at Captain D’s to be able to cater to the seafood lover AND the person who doesn’t like the taste. I’m not sure how this works because I makes catfish at home in February of 2009 and to this day, you just can’t trust my oven with a pie.

Thank you to Captain D’s for their conscientious, kind employee, their good hot food and warm, clean establishment on a freezing evening and food that’s both pleasant to the eye and mouth! Your attention to detail definitely shows on every level.

We live in Belleville Illinois and frequent the Captain D’s there as well but this St Ann location is certainly a favorite!!

I came through the drive-thru today and ordered a 10-piece family meal. When we arrive at the pay window we decided that we would like to add another 10-piece family meal. Which is the time we were told that we could not place the second order that we will have to go through the drive-thru again after handing her the card and waiting for the payment to go through she came back to the window and said that we could go ahead and place the second order so we did and she asked us to pull up a few feet and wait for the order. Considering we had so much fish we asked for extra tartar sauce now mind you that it’s maybe 11:30 maybe 12:00 noon and we only received three tartar sauces in our bag when we checked. We asked the manager did she put extra tartar sauce in the bag as we requested .She told us that they were out of tartar sauce. This is noon there was only one car behind us. The hush puppies were cold. While the manager and my wife were getting things together about our order I took the opportunity to walk inside and take a couple of the pictures. But I think I should have stayed outside because I guess when they were talking about the hush puppies and fries no one noticed that the fish looked like it had been cooked two times it was dark and it was extra dry and hard. I can’t lie when I get home I was upset when it was time to eat because I live in St.Charles county and we picked up this food in North county. $80+ so definitely will not be returning to that location.

This was the worst food ever. I will not be back. Young kids do not know how to cook fish. I ordered batter dipped fish and it looked like I got fried fish.

Even though it was late all the food I ordered was correct. Everything was hot and fresh.

Don’t deserve a 1 star at all!!!!!! Ordered the Fish and Shrimp Meal and the fish was watery and greasy, the hush puppies were very nasty. One well done fry and the rest barely cooked. The only thing on my plate good was the macaroni and cheese and the shrimp. But my macaroni I had a small portion. I will not be returning to this location. Very disappointed in the lack of flavor and greasy/watery fish.

The person in the drive thru continued to argue with me while I was trying to order my food and kept saying they don’t have the 6 pieces of fish for $10.99 refusing to give me what I ordered. While I have been to Captain D’s many times and order the same thing. Following the drive thru person being extremely rude, I believe the same person was at the window and refused to give me the house tartar sauce when I specially asked for it. Continued to yell at me the entire time and was extremely rude about my entire experience from start to finish.

The cashiers were nice which kept me from asking for a refund. The manager was rude and laughed at me when I asked why was my piece of fish so small. I wanted a different piece especially for the price I was paying. He said he doesn’t do the fishing. Hmm, clearly customers do not matter in most fast food chains. I’m never going back to Captain Ds again.

This was my first and last time going to this location. I spent 17 dollars on a sampler that was dry and very small in portions. It like they took one fish and split it down the middle and called it two pieces. They gave me two chicken nuggets and dry fries. Horrible experience

This is by far the worst Captain D’s I’ve ever been too. I got two pieces of fish roughly the size of grocery store fish sticks. $22 for two pieces of fish, a large drink, and six hush puppies with the food quality being poor at best
