The food was excellent. We ordered the ShinChon Turtle Set #2 ($188.95) with pork belly, brisket, galbi, and marinated galbi…very generous portions and great flavor overall. Wrapping the meat with rice cake was a fun and delicious touch.
The manager came by the table several times to check on the food and service, which was appreciated. It was quite busy, so the first round of brisket was a bit overcooked, but things improved afterward.
A truly authentic Korean BBQ spot. I’d definitely return, ideally during a less busy time.

Shin Chon never misses! The food here is always fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying — from the banchan to the BBQ, everything comes out hot and delicious. You can really taste the quality. The service is just as great. The staff is attentive, friendly, and quick to help with anything you need. Even when the place is busy, they make you feel well taken care of. If you’re craving Korean food or want a spot that consistently delivers an amazing meal and smooth dining experience, Shin Chon Garden is definitely the place. Highly recommended!

We stopped by for Thai food but noticed an abundance of Korean restaurants in the mall. After a quick Google Maps check, we chose this one—and it did not disappoint! The authenticity was evident, with all the staff being Korean and only a few speaking English.
The food was excellent for the price. We ordered the special combination for two, which was more than enough for three—my husband, teen son, and me. The highlight was the thick pork belly: it looked greasy at first, but once grilled and cut into bite-sized pieces, it was incredible. The fat rendered out, leaving the meat perfectly crispy and chewy.
The two men also shared a seafood pancake, while I was already satisfied with the small dishes—like the steamed egg and soup—that came with the meal.

This place is the best Korean in Maryland! I bought three different kinds of Korean spicy soups (Yuk-keh Jang, Goni Tang, and Al Tang) and rice including free sides for dinner today! The test is excellent and staffs are very friendly. I believe this place is the oldest Korean restaurant in this area and it’s been there over 25 yrs. Hope they can keep the business for another +25 yrs for Marylanders.

The only reason why I can’t give this a 5 star is because competition is high in this area. There are sooooo many good kbbq places in such a close proximity that it makes it hard to really stand out. Shin Chon is a pretty solid choice. I wasn’t in love with the side dishes but the kimchi jigae was really good! I wish it had more pork in it but the meat was so juicy and flavorful. Otherwise it’s a pretty standard kbbq place. It gets really busy during popular hours and the wait time can be long if you’re not mindful, because there’s limited tables that have the kbbq option.

What’s not to love? The food was fantastic and their service was even better. The banchan (side dishes) were delicious. The tabletop cooking added to the dining experience. The meat was cooked to perfection. We were each given complimentary scrambled eggs.
The only catch: they don’t take reservations. So coordinate and plan accordingly. They only seat you when the full group arrives.

The best thing we had here was the Combination Seafood Jhim. Very good variety of seafood and enormous portion. The leftovers were good for numerous meals afterwards. Great variety of banchan as well. The BBQ was very good and I enjoyed the different sauces they had, but I would say it was about on par with the Korean BBQ around where we live in MoCo. Same with the Japchae, although I will say the meat portion was noticeably better here.
The only negative here was the service wasn’t perfect. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday evening and the waitresses were working very hard. They mostly took care of us very well but there was an order of water that never came, as well as a refill of banchan that never came. This was not the end of the world as we had the complimentary tea and the other food was more than enough, but this at least will make me reconsider coming back during peak times.
Overall, I would recommend this place and the Combination Seafood Jhim was worth the drive from MoCo.

Our entire family enjoys the food here. Food is fresh and tasty. But we dont come here often. It’s hard to enjoy a family dinner because you will get rushed out. On multiple occasions, including the last time, extended family (10people) who we dont see often chose to meet here for dinner. They cooked the food and served it out. Once the meat was cleared onto everyone’s plates, we ate for a few minutes before they came by and requested us to complete our meal because they had other reservations waiting. We were there about an hour. Rude as hell, but we ate quickly and finished our conversation outside the restaurant in the cold. We were out there for over 40 mins and during that time there were many grilling tables open, no one was waiting l, and no one was seated in the area we occupied. This was not the only time. So even though we like the food, we won’t come here.
