We stopped at Swad Stop Punjabi Dhaba on I-40 while visiting Petrified Forest National Park. It’s a Punjabi restaurant located at a truck stop where many Punjabi truck drivers stop to eat, shower, and rest. The restaurant itself was very clean and well maintained. There are couple of more food stores like Burger King inside the truck stop.
We ordered aloo gobhi, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, goat curry, along with garlic naan and roti. The food was good overall—simple, comforting Punjabi-style cooking. Everything tasted fine and met expectations, especially after a long day of travel. A solid stop if you’re on I-40 and craving Indian food.

This place is a gem! We were so happy to find an Indian restaurant on our way to the Petrified Forest. We enjoyed the garlic naan, samosas, for starters. I rate both high for freshness, flavor and temperature. My dish of Tikki Masala Paneer was the best I’ve ever had. My travelling companion and I both appreciated the spices and freshness. So delicious! This place rates higher, in my book, than our favorite Indian restaurant in our hometown in Michigan. I’m so glad we found this restaurant!

As a truck driver, I have explored many locales and had a lot of Indian food. There was nothing inherently wrong with the food, service or atmosphere, but it was a little bland considering. That along with the highway pricing, I doubt I’ll return. Not bad, just not memorable.

Absolutely loved this Indian restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of great aromas. The food was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. Every dish had the perfect balance of spices, and you can really taste the authenticity in every bite.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to help with recommendations. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality you get. Whether you’re a fan of mild flavors or enjoy spicy dishes, there’s something here for everyone.
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Indian food and a great dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back! ✨

Food was amazing, everyone i talked to was very nice and professional. Menus provided at the front counter. They have a staff member go around and check on everyone at the tables who is very attentive and friendly. And the food was plentiful. I had to take almost half of it with me to go. Very grateful this place is here and will definitely eat here again the next time I pass through.

This east Indian restaurant is a lifesaver for truck drivers tired of endless burgers and mediocre food. Finally, there’s proper, delicious food here—not what we usually get at truck stops.

Food was really delicious. Quantity is really good and service is top-notch. Hans, The person on the reception counter is really polite and kind. Atmosphere is calm and suitable for families to sit and eat. We took chai, shahi paneer, garlic naan and daal makhni with rice. Everything was as good as home cooked food.Traveling to Arizona, we weren’t expecting that we will get this good vegetarian food and friendly warm service. ❤️

Food was excellent, garlic naan bread very good. Prices high but in the middle of nowhere so I am not sure if good price here or not. Employees were nice and friendly

Love this little spot connected to a truck stop. Tasty indian food, quick service. The vegetable pakora were delightful and quite a large portion for the price. The chai tea was good, and the garlic naan! Thanks again! LOTS of vegetable options!

During my journey back to Las Vegas from Albuquerque, I discovered Swad Stop at I-40, exit 292, and it was a delightful surprise. Welcomed warmly by a gracious host, I was immediately drawn to the authenticity of the offerings. The chicken curry was exceptional—its rich, well-balanced spices and thick, authentic gravy truly set it apart. Paired with tawa rotis, a rarity in the U.S., the meal captured the essence of North Indian cuisine. Each table featured a homemade Punjabi mango pickle, enhancing the experience, and all of this was just $16. For anyone passing through, Swad Stop is a must-visit for genuine, top-tier Indian flavors.
