A Thoroughly Dreadful New Year’s Eve at Tokyo Club
Let me just start by saying: if you value your evening, your wallet, or even a shred of decent service, you might want to run the other way. This place turned what should have been a fun New Year’s celebration into an absolute fiasco.
Service Nightmare
From the moment we walked in, the waitstaff seemed like they were doing us a favor by acknowledging our existence. We’re talking about waiting nearly half an hour just to get a menu, with staff practically avoiding eye contact. When they did finally come around, we were met with a mix of indifference and, frankly, a little bit of attitude.
The Bait-and-Switch Pricing Debacle
Now, let’s talk about the real kicker: the outrageous price gouging. We had booked expecting a special New Year’s Eve menu at a certain price. Once seated, they took over 2 hours to serve a few horrible appetizers and cheap wine for 300$ worth of purchase… and ran the clock for kids core appetizers and horrible rotten rolls

And let’s not forget the food itself. For the hiked-up price, you’d expect something at least decent. Instead, it was mediocre at best—definitely not worth what they were charging. Every dish felt like a letdown, and by the end of the night, we were just counting the minutes until we could leave.

Definitely a good spot…. Sushi is really good. Service is good…. I do hope they have extra help once they get busy. I do not agree that casamigos should be the house tequila at 19 bucks. Karaoke is fun here.. Just turn up the karaoke soundtrack. Definitely worth going.

You’d think a place with 4.8 stars on Google would actually have good food, then again the reviews are over a year old. We were seated immediately but the tables were not cleaned properly. We had to ask for a table to be wiped down, but she just moved us to a different table. It took forever for us to get drinks(which was just a lemonade and soda), we had to ask twice for our water after our server immediately forgot. We were there for almost an hour before we finally got our food. The price is not worth the quality. I got the $33 “Tokyo Club” rolls and as soon as I ate one roll I gagged, the fish was rubbery and hard to chew, the “eel” did not look or taste like eel. Even my friend said the eel in her rolls did not taste right either. I did not want to eat anymore. I told the waiter that I was not going to eat this and what was wrong with it and I want it taken off the bill since I only ate one roll and it was disgusting. It’s like he didn’t understand what I was telling him. He left as I was telling him what was going on which was insane. He did not come back to our table, I had to get up and go up to him to pay the bill. The “discount” he gave us was $11 off the meal. I still paid $22 for the meal—which is the equivalent to a regular plate of specialty rolls— even though I did not touch it after one roll. At that point I just wanted to leave. I was angry and just wanted to get rid of the stress of it.
We ended up grabbing gelato nearby to cope with the experience

Come for the Sushi stay for the Karaoke! Fun little night club in SOBE. We got to sing some karaoke while eating sushi. Sushi was expensive so I expected more & better quality for the price but it was still good. Drink was ok too. The big draw was the entertainment: either the sunstones singing karaoke or the local talent dancing sexily. Definitely a fun experience.

Tasty sushi in a very cool atmosphere! The rolls are all very delicious with a lot of unique options like those with cream cheese. The sashimi is also really good – the salmon is very tender and buttery. The cocktails are also really yummy and so are the appetizers! The service isn’t very fast but otherwise the experience was pretty great!

Our server Francisco was fantastic! Very attentive and provided a winning appetizer recommendation of the Tuna Tataki! The sushi was delicious, especially the Queen Roll and Pop Roll! If you like mezcal and coffee, the Wake Up Samurai is the cocktail to get! Excellent place!
