Steak Sandwich – ordered by my sons, they liked the sandwich and mentioned it was cooked correctly (med rare)
Ribeye – this dish came with baked potato, asparagus. My wife ordered this medium rare. It also came with a side salad. Everything was good, except the steak was way over cooked. My wife told waitress to send back. They brought back another one and it too wasn’t cooked correctly. At the we had it removed from the check.
Blackened Halibut – overall good dish. It came with rice pilaf and asparagus. Only complaint is the halibut was a bit overcooked.
This place has a great charm and the staff is super nice. Will definitely try it again.
We also opted to get a bartender for a cocktail hour, and everyone raved about the drinks! The servers were also very attentive, and kept water pitchers on the table full, and worked tirelessly to clear the tables when everyone was done.
Both Bud’s and the Olde Vets Hall are cool buildings.
The bar at the restaurant is stunning, with many mounted hunting trophies. The dark wood provides a historic California vibe that is really nice. The booths are spacious, and the waitstaff is friendly at table or bar. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the food and the service, and the price, considering the MOUNTAIN of leftovers we will be feeding on until Christmas. Thank you to Cherie and the gang for making one of the hardest days for my family one of the best by the end.
We held a Celebration of Life (34 people) for our beloved Joyce Tinsley.
The private dining area was perfect—comfortable, welcoming, and beautifully set up for our gathering. The food was delicious, and every detail was handled thoughtfully. What stood out the most was the staff: they were attentive, respectful, and genuinely committed to making the day special for our family.
During an emotional time, they gave us peace of mind and helped create a beautiful, memorable event that truly honored Joyce. We are so grateful and will always remember the exceptional service and warm hospitality we received here.
I highly recommend this restaurant for any gathering where you want both heart and excellence.

Outside tables in the shade on north side of building is where my dog LuLu and I sat on a warm June Friday. Plus 1 ⭐️ for being dog friendly. All the inside booths were full along with three outside tables keeping staff busy so that explains why we sat for ten minutes before anyone approached us. French Dip reviews ranged from good to fantastic so that’s what I ordered. It arrived quickly (10-minutes). No “set up” so I had to ask for napkins. No cutlery so I stabbed French fries with toothpick that was inserted into my sandwich. Ice tea hit the spot but no refill until I went inside and requested. Sandwich OK but a letdown based on reviews I’d read while waiting for service. I will come back sometime and try the steak sandwich which also has rave reviews. We’ll see.
My lady got the rack of lamb, and it was really good as well. The best part of eating here was that everything was reasonably priced!
I would recommend you give this place a try.
