This is what my husband brought home for me as a To go order from Rita’s. I’m not sure if the picture does it justice, but everything was mixed together and looked just.. off. I am in shock at how BLAND this food was. My husband said his food was entirely too spicy. My combination plate (#1) lacked flavor.. completely. The chicken seems like it was boiled, shredded, no seasoning. The sauce also has zero flavor besides just a little spice. I’m genuinely shocked at how this place has so many good reviews.. either our food was a complete mess up or the cook wasn’t up to par today? I’m very disappointed and definitely won’t ever be returning.
My husband said the staff were great, though.

This cute little restaurant is located downtown. It gives you a feel of visiting your grandma and getting delicious food. The staff are so friendly and amazing at catering to your needs. The food is affordable and one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to.

I used to love coming here back in the day. Haven’t eaten here is over 15 years. It was a bit disappointing. Wasn’t awful, but wasn’t great. The Chile was very floury, the red tasted very bitter. Pork and avocado burritos were pretty meh, hardly any pork and avocado. The chicken on white was the only really good item. The place is dirty and falling apart. Need to give your restaurant some attention. Service was outstanding btw. Won’t be back, moving on…

This is a decent place. It’s one of those “do you want cheap food or quality food” places, which is not to say the food sucks. However, all these reviews I am reading are mostly regulars and family/friends of the owners acting like this place is the second coming of Jesus. The place serves average, quickly cooked food. There is absolutely nothing special about this place other than the prices. If this is the best tasting food you have ever had, you need to go to more restaurants and expand your palate before you start reviewing food.

If I lived in Pueblo I would go to this place every so often; it’s like Burrito’s Betty but with better food and a dine-in. Fast food prices with above fast food quality.

Also, this is Tex-Mex not authentic Mexican so make sure you understand that before buying anything. The dine-in is very small and densely packed. It is probably more for the regulars who feel like family, but as somebody who had never been there before it felt a little too clustered.

The staff was very friendly to me (I got a free donut hole too). I didn’t like the fries, but the double cheeseburger I ordered was pretty good. It has an upper fast food class feel to it (think Drifter’s, In-N-Out, Five Guys). Quesadilla wasn’t the best but was still pretty tasty (especially for the price I think it was $3). I wasn’t a fan of the chips and salsa. They were ok but the salsa had a cheap, watered-down taste to it. Have had much better complimentary chips and salsa served at almost every authentic Mexican dine-in restaurant in Colorado.

Absolutely awesome. I live in the neighborhood and since discovering this jewel, I’ve been eating there once a week, at least. What is being described by some as dirty is actually just old. The food is authentic and the service is great. For example, if you want to replace beans and rice with extra rice instead, no problem, as it should be. To repeat, the food is awesome and the service is great. Get into Rita’s Mexican Food and you will not be disappointed!

This is some of the best Mexican food to be had. I admit I’ve only had 2 items from their menu. However, those 2 are excellent. I get the Mexican salad with rice and beans… Smothered in Green Chile or the Sunrise (chilaquiles). Their food is yummy.
Yes it’s a little place but it sure is yummy…
As it’s a Family owned restaurant it shows in the service.

Looks like a hole in the wall but really great breakfast food. We got a standard 2 egg, sausage breakfast and a breakfast burrito. The burrito (especially smothered in green chili) was delicious. And less than $4! The egg meal was good. Side potatoes were really well seasoned and cooked! The staff were friendly, fast and helpful. They also brought out free cinnamon sugar donuts at the end of the meal. Really good! Tasted like sopapillas. Final bill was under $15 for both meals and drinks. Great, inexpensive option when in downtown Pueblo!

I agree with Vexivero’s review. Large portions here at low prices, but it’s just not for me. I’m not Mexican but I’ve eaten enough in AZ and NM to know this is a poor representation of Mexican food. Calling it Tex-Mex is being generous. I’ve seen this play out at other local places in this city..5 star reviews for absolutely mediocre food. Most of the plates I saw coming out of the kitchen were drenched in their chile, which was quite underwhelming when I had a chance to taste my food. Bland is the word here. I’m sure the cheese used for my burrito was a Kraft slice. The interior could use an update, or maybe just a good thorough scrubbing. This place seems popular with locals, who, bless em, may not have had anything better. The pancake was massive. Kudos to them for not cheating customers on portion size but I won’t return.

I haven’t been in 25 years because I moved away. The food was exactly as good as it was 25 years ago. The portions are big and the prices are amazing.

Went to breakfast here for the first time. A lot of great options on the menu and great prices. Had the sausage and egg breakfast with green chili and potatoes and a pancake. The green chili is a gravy just how I like with good cheese. The potatoes were amazing and crispy and go great with the green chili. Some of the best food I’ve had in Pueblo. Really enjoyed my time.
