⭐️ Review: A Flavorful Find Even From Afar ⭐️

I’ve been on the hunt for the best take‑out Chinese food in the area, and after hearing plenty of hype, I finally made the trek out to Szechuan Bistro. Yes — it’s a bit of a drive from Edmond, but was it worth it? Absolutely worth trying at least once.

Located on W Memorial Rd in Oklahoma City, this place serves up a solid mix of authentic Szechuan‑style dishes and Chinese favorites — from dumplings and kung pao to spicy classics from the Szechuan side of the menu.

What stood out:
• The quality and flavor are definitely there — dishes are tasty, bold, and well‑seasoned, and many diners praise the authentic Szechuan flavors.
• Portion sizes lean a bit on the modest side for the price — not huge takeaway trays, but what you do get is high quality and flavorful.
• There’s a nice variety of menu options, including both traditional Szechuan items and more familiar Chinese dishes, plus vegetarian/vegan choices and the ability to customize spice levels.

Overall vibe:
A bit pricier than some basic takeout spots, but you’re paying for quality and flavor rather than just quantity. If you’re into real Szechuan flavors and classic Chinese dishes done well, this place lives up to much of the hype.

Would I drive out again? Definitely — especially for a flavorful night in or a special takeout dinner.

Takeaway: Worth every mile if you’re craving something better than your usual Chinese takeout — just know you’re paying for good quality over giant portions.

Possibly one of my best Chinese experiences in the Dallas-Houston-Oklahoma area. Made by Chinese people and hence, food is authentic. Traditionally, Chinese food is salty. This place is the opposite. I could use some extra salt! Their eggplant chicken is really good.

Went with people who said it was really good, and upon entering the Owner or Manager (not sure), immediately knew who they were and what they ordered! He was really personable and the service was excellent! Food came out fast and one Claypot was enough to split between 3 people. Flavorful & Memorable!

We had an amazing experience here! We ordered steamed pork dumplings , beef and broccoli, egg rolls, stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots, Hunan beef, fried rice, shrimp fried rice and lo-mein — everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were authentic, rich, and so satisfying. The service was just as impressive — our server was attentive to every detail, keeping our drinks filled and making sure we had everything we needed. The owner is incredibly sweet and accommodating, which made the whole dining experience even better. This is definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to again and again!

I ordered the hot and spicy pork intestine and sliced fish in clay pot and they were hot but flavorful and pretty oily. order this only if you can handle spice because it has the numbing pepper in it that numbs your tongue. I love it

Delicious. Great service and awesome food. We have been truly impressed by their ability to make a large range of items gluten free for my wife. Rarely do you find a Chinese restaurant do this. This is quickly become one of our go to restaurants now.

Jia You Szechuan Bistro!
