I came here for brunch with quite a large group (without a reservation.) The employees did an amazing job at clearing a table as soon as possible for us. We got a fall salad for the table and it was an amazing addition to every dish. The people I came with loved their food. I got The King which was quite sweet, a little too much for my liking. Overall, great experience, great food, great time.

Such a nice spot for weekend brunch! Visited recently with family, this was a last min plan so didn’t have a reservation but I would highly recommend making one if going over a weekend. We waited 20-34 mins and got a nice table overlooking the open kitchen.

We ordered the burrito, horchata French toast, shakshuka and the wild grain bowl and everything was flavorful, delicious and gone before we knew it! We will be back for more, with a resy

My first time dining at Besaws and I’m so glad we went!

I’ll start with the one challenge — parking. The location in NW is fairly easy to get to, but as with most of that area, parking can take a hot minute. Definitely give yourself extra time if you have reservations.

Now for the good stuff… oh my gosh, the FOOD. Incredible. The menu is packed with amazing options, and everything we tried was delicious. We ordered the Dungeness crab Benedict — such a healthy portion of fresh crab with bright, fresh flavors. And the crispy potatoes on the side? OMG. I could eat an entire bowl of those by myself.

We also shared the avocado toast (fresh and flavorful), the chicken and waffles (come hungry — this one is a beast in the best way), and the chilaquiles — savory, perfectly sauced, and oh-so-delicious.

They seated us quickly for our reservation, and the service was excellent. Mohammad gave great suggestions and helpful insights into their favorites on the menu, which made the experience even better.

I can’t wait to go back and share these delicious flavors with more friends and family!

The classic historic building is a perfect setting for an excellent Sunday brunch! This was our first visit to Besaws, and the staff was terrific. We were greeted at the door, sat in a comfortable booth, and our waitress stopped by quickly to introduce herself. Service throughout was excellent.

The menu is interesting and impressive, yet simple enough to make selection between the tempting offerings a stress-free process. We sampled the chicken and waffles, served with scrambled eggs. The chicken was cooked perfectly and spiced well. The star of the show was the peach stuffed pancake — without question the biggest pancake we’ve ever experienced. Both dishes were amazing. Arrive early and enjoy one of the area’s top spots for breakfast / brunch!

The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were amazing. We got the avocado toast and shakshuka. The avocado toast may be my favorite that I have gotten in Portland – and we all know there is a LOT of avocado toast around here. Drinks were also great, specifically the Columbian coffee. Mouhamed was a great server and took good care of us. Will definitely be going back!

Besaws is absolutely worth the walk.

We did a three mile walk to get there and arrived properly hungry, which felt like the right way to approach brunch in the Portland morning air. By the time we sat down, we were ready.

I ordered a Bloody Mary (with bacon!) and my companion went with a hot toddy. Coffee refills were plentiful and genuinely good, not an afterthought. Everything arrived with a calm confidence that made it easy to settle in.

We shared the crab cake Benedicts, which were excellent. Rich without being heavy, well balanced, and clearly made with care rather than flash. We also ordered an omelette, and it more than held its own.

Both dishes came with house fried potatoes that deserve special mention. Crisp on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned exactly right. The kind of potatoes you keep eating even after you tell yourself you are full.

Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt precious. Just well executed food, good drinks, and a place that knows exactly who it is.

If you are willing to earn your brunch with a walk, Besaw will meet you there and take care of the rest.
