This place is amazing! It can be expensive, but worth it. The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent. From tuxedo dinners to flipflops, all are welcomed. You are very likely to see the owner checking on things.

A little gem in the Kiln!
If you love seafood, it’s a must-stop.
If you tend to be cold bring a sweater it’s chilly inside (68). Food is pricey but it is fresh and tasty. Also pretty sure only place that imports from Alaska anywhere off the Gulf Coast, we were told our crap was a live eight days ago.. Crab dip came out quickly and was just about gone before I was able to snap a picture, LOL. It did take a while for our main platter. We got the Poseidon that serves up to four. I’d plan on at least two hours from sitting to finishing the meal. Possibly longer if there’s more in your group.. We did end up taking some home. Server was nice but busy. We did have a bit of a wait for refills of drinks or for them to come around and check on us. Manager/owner did stop by table and was present around the restaurant. Overall great experience!

Ps I do give you a warm finger bath w/lemon to clean up!

I took my wife here for our anniversary and didn’t expect to have the worst service possible. Sounds impossible for this restaurant but it truly was horrible and they didn’t make up for it as much as they should have.

We had to wait 30 minutes even with a reservation but that didn’t even matter. Our server took our drink and appetizer orders and then just absolutely disappeared. Luckily our appetizer was brought out by someone as our original waiter vanished. Eventually we flagged down a waitress from another section but I promise you it had been an hour since we got our appetizer. It literally got dark in that time. Luckily the food was excellent but with that bad of an issue I’d honestly expect more than a comped appetizer.

Horrible first impression of what is supposed to be one of the best restaurants on the coast and luckily we didn’t let it ruin our anniversary, it sure ruined my chances for anything once we got home 2 hours after we should have though as my wife went straight to bed.

Went here for Christmas with the family! Me and my fiance got the S.S. Minow and it was so good! The snow crab is MASSIVE! The royal reds were okay. Not my favorite. But the crab, the gumbo, the bisque and the smoked tuna dip were FANTASTIC! The meal came to nearly $300 for the two of us with sweet teas. So it’s pricey. The service was superb! Will definitely be going back! We had a reservation so the wait was nonexistent.

We had an incredible dinner at Jourdan River Steamer. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming, and the food kept getting better with every course.

We started with a pound of the royal red shrimp and a bowl of seafood gumbo. The shrimp were huge, seasoned perfectly, and came with melted butter on the side. The seafood gumbo was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and a nice scoop of rice on top. A great start.

For our main course, we ordered the filet cooked medium rare, and it came out just right — tender and full of flavor. It was served with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and a giant piece of roasted bone marrow that really took things to the next level. We also tried the tuna dip which was smoky, creamy, and served with crispy crackers and toppings that added a nice pop of flavor.

We finished with dessert and could not resist ordering both the bread pudding and the chocolate cake. The bread pudding was warm and comforting with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel. The chocolate cake was rich and fudgy with just the right amount of sweetness.

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and the service made it even better. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in a while and we will definitely be coming back. If you are anywhere near Kiln, Mississippi, this place is a must.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We ordered “The Bounty”. The service was fantastic. Our server’s name was Sam, she did a wonderful job. The food was…well bland. Covering it and layering it in Old Bay seasoning was the only thing we could taste. The hot butter that was served with our meal had a taste of being left out to solidify, and then be reheated again. So that was off putting. The shrimp were served with their heads on…and not cleaned in any way what so ever, nor was the lobster. I did not enjoy cleaning out the waste of the shrimp and lobster, it is not what I would consider a romantic time out . For the price we paid for that meal I expected far better in flavor and taste. We have had better sea food at the Angry Crab Shack… Atmosphere good, service good, food subpar… I would recommend anywhere else for the price they charge.
