Came here after work for the first time. I had a couple of drinks and we got appetizers. It was pretty good. The atmosphere was inviting, the artwork was pretty cool and it wasn’t too busy for us to be able to get our food and drinks fairly quick. Overall it was a nice place to go if you are looking for a new place to try.

The food was pretty good and waiter was nice. We really liked the chicken scampi, not a lot of places use chicken instead of shrimp.
It’s usually packed so you may want to get reservations just in case.

The food was decent.
I gave the service a 2-star rating, not because of the lovely, smiling server, who was wonderfully kind to both my wife and me, but because it took exactly 50 minutes for our meal to arrive after placing our order. And that was just for a plate of fish and a burger.
We’ve dined at busy restaurants before and understand when delays happen due to high demand. However, in this case, the restaurant wasn’t crowded at all, making the long wait puzzling. Fortunately, the numerous TVs on the walls helped pass the time.
That said, if you’re hungry, it’s still an okay spot to grab a bite.

My friend and I went there for lunch. I always have passed by the resturant for work and it smelled great. My friend gotten the turkey club which is made with turkey breast roasted inhouse. I gotten the California Burger. Very good, the Fries that came with our orders was not as “salted” as I would like but condiments are provided at the tables. I would say we went there during a non peak hour but the Server sat us directly next to another group when there was other tables at the windows we could have sat at. Great spot for lunch and dinner if you do not mind the crowd during peak hours.

This place is great to go on a nice warm day. The outside seating give you the opportunity to soak in good weather and people watch. The side of the restaurant has large windows that open up into the bar area.
Food: The first time I can here we were just passing by and popped in for a drinks and dessert. I can highly recommend the ice cream and churros. They second time we got real food to go with our dessert. Again the dessert (this time a skillet cookie and ice cream) was also very good. I’d also recommend the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad and the steak tip sandwich.
Service: Always had friendly servers. It can get very busy though, especially outside so be aware.
Parking can be a bit of a task – there is a small lot immediately in front of the restaurant and a small lot to the side. This place is in the heart of Braintree on a main road so can get a bit busy.
Can’t wait to visit again in warm weather!

Ate at southside today. Olivia is a great waitress! The bar side was very busy and she was friendly and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed including drinks. The meatball ricotta pizza was delicious as was the pumpkin cheesecake. Southside is lucky to have her!

Over the years I have driven by this place and not really thought about going in, but now under COVID restrictions and thanks to outside seating you can now truly see how busy a place is… In the past year under COVID the Tavern has always been busy when I drive by during ALL hours of the day most of the week and if their outside area is crowded that usually means their inside area is crowed and there is a reason for that… The reason… A GREAT menu! GREAT food! GREAT portions! Also a lot of TVs inside so you won’t miss whatever sport you wish to watch!

It’s a typical pub restaurant with beer on tap and standard “American” food choices. There were also different mixed drink/cocktails for the holiday season if that’s your thing. Service was great, and the appetizers my friends and I ordered were good. I would go back again if I was in the area.
