I called in two slices and said I was heading right over to eat there. It was a quiet Monday, yet I sat for seven to ten minutes before being acknowledged. Shortly after the first waitress finally came to my table, a second waitress came up and told me I was “not allowed” to order in advance.
Why would this even be an issue or worth an unnecessary conversation & conflict? especially on such a slow Monday night and it’s only me.
I’ve been a regular customer for over 15 years; the two managers know me and my 2 slices of vegetarian pizza order. Long time waitresses have never questioned whether I take my pizza to go or eat a slice there while it’s hot.
I simply called in 2 slices of pizza and dined in. At the restaurant I also ordered two beers. I was a paying customer, yet they still felt the need to bring up a completely unnecessary confrontation. When the bill arrived and I expressed my frustration to my original waitress, she deflected. It was clear she was aware of the situation, as I could see both of them behind the bar having a conversation about me.
This is where common sense should take precedent; people over policy, versus policy over people,” which is especially disappointing given my history of loyalty and tipping well.
Waitstaff are the face of a business, and to cop an attitude was a control tactic and immaturity. These two women ruined years of a friendly and positive experience. Despite their behavior, I still tipped 20%, but the lack of hospitality and friendliness was completely uncalled for.
Crust was cooked well. Would recommend going here if you like thin Italian crust pizza.
The Mr. ordered a pizza and I ordered the vodka rigatoni. We spent time in the Utica, NY area where they serve Vodka Riggies and chicken riggies which are local dishes. This order of vodka rigatoni was DELICIOUS! Not quite the same as the NY dish but very similar to the chicken riggies without the chicken. Next time I’ll order it with chicken! This dish is spicy and flavorful, with plenty of delicious sauce for sopping up with the included garlic knots. The pasta was cooked perfectly.
The pizza was delicious as well, flavorful, chewy crust.
We will definitely return when we are back in the area.
The only thing I didn’t like was the kind of cheese used on my pizza. I’m not a fan of thick rubbery cheese.
Otherwise, it was a great place.
They do have two gluten-free size crusts, but if you have celiac or high sensitivity, stay
clear.
