Both my husband and I ordered the Haddock Sandwich with cheese and chips. This was simply the greatest bite of food we had in all of Maine! The in house bakery brioche bun was buttery and soft, the fish was pan fried to perfection and the Tatar sauce and cheese added a tangy zip to the sandwich that made you want more and more. It was the perfect fish sandwich. We also got a blueberry pancake to share and it was fluffy and sweet with real Canadian maple syrup on the side. This thing was packed with blueberries!
The whole menu is whimsical and fun and everything sounded good. It was hard to choose what to eat but I think we made the right choice.
The iced coffee was strong and they had almond milk available! Restaurant was clean and cozy. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. This was a wonderful stop on our travels and I will think about that sandwich for a long long time!
As a Chicana, I give the Huevos Rancheros a thumbs up! So filling and so good! If youre in the area, please take a moment. You wont be disappointed.
They were busy but they turn over tables quickly.
The sticky buns were delicious even though I got them to go. My breakfast burrito was fantastic. The home fries were some of the best I’ve ever had.
The staff was warm and attentive, and the menu? Huge. There’s something for everyone—plenty of vegetarian options with protein like tofu, and some really creative dishes (the tofu bánh mì was a standout!). They also bake fresh bread daily and offer delicious homemade treats like muffins and cinnamon rolls that are hard to resist.
I honestly haven’t stopped raving about this place since we visited. The cozy, charming decor and relaxed atmosphere made it an experience as much as a meal. Can’t wait to go back!!
The menu was massive, especially for lunch — everything from biscuits and gravy to burgers, omelets, pancakes, you name it. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy after seeing all the rave reviews, and it did not disappoint. The portion was huge, it was so flavorful, and the biscuit (homemade, like the rest of their stuff!) was incredible.
I got the huevos rancheros, which were good, just not exactly what I was in the mood for. It leaned a little too “healthy” for me that morning, and the sauce + beans combo made the dish a little too soupy. Still tasty, but I definitely had some food envy. We also ordered a side of the herby potatoes and a cinnamon bun, both of which were delicious, especially those potatoes. And the coffee was strong!
The restaurant was bright and lively, and the staff just seemed genuinely happy to be there. Our server was amazing — super friendly, on top of everything, and constantly refilling our coffee without us having to ask. We’d absolutely come back next time we’re in Rockland.
The day before, we had had a dismal breakfast elsewhere and I was dying for a good old classic eggs and bacon with toast (which the place the day before did not do right). Home Kitchen Cafe hit a home run!!!
The eggs and bacon were spot on, hot, tasty, yummy. The server suggested a bakery item which we hardly ever do but we opted for one pancake and it was the BEST pancake I’ve ever had, and that was even before I put butter and syrup on it! I’ve never used so many exclamation points in a review!!
Everyone from hostess to server was friendly and efficient. And the prices were reasonable. I’d come here every day if I could. Thank you Home Kitchen Cafe for feeding us exactly the home cooked breakfast we were looking for!!!
Blueberry pancakes were best we’ve had on our Maine vacation. Get the corned beef hash. Just trust me on this one.
Beautiful patio with fresh herbs.
