I went here with high hopes after hearing that El Farolito is highly raved about by other locals, and man, it blew any expectations I had out of the water. The food was phenomenal. I tried their Super Burrito, which was huge! For $12 or so, the prices are also super good. The food packs a crazy good kick. The atmosphere and service were also good as well. They had a security guard on site, which was a nicely added layer of security. They’re open til 2am or so each day of the week, which is totally killer if you’re a night owl or a club go-er. Overall, a superb experience. I’ll be back!

11/20/2025: Grilled chicken super burrito $12.75. They recently up the price of super burritos by $0.50 since July. Somehow El Farolito keeps making the list for people’s top five burritos on Reddit and other sites. I don’t disagree. The reasons I like coming here is because they are solid, chefs are visible making your food, open late, salsa bar, dorado style if you ask, nice cashier staff and a less formal dining experience. There are much better looking food elsewhere, but El Farolito makes it work with their flavors and speed. Good job my friends at El Farolito.

2025 update. El Farolito is awesome. The chefs here are experts. I love how the meats are always smoky delicious. Tonight’s take-out was my usual order, carnitas (deep fried pork) super burrito $12.25 and chips $0.75. Back when I was taking night classes at City College, I would come here all the time because they close at 3am on Thursdays. My rotation was El Farolito, Beep’s or 7-11 hot dogs after class let out at 9pm. Pretty much everything on the menu at El Farolito are good.

Original review: Not on the menu, my dorado style super steak burrito $9.50 was delicious. I also got a side of chips for $0.75. Officially, a dorado style (seared) burrito is not on the menu. I asked the cashier to make me one. So, if you are going to order one, you need to do it in-person and it depends on your Spanish or the cashier. The chef did a great job with mine. It was seared, not too crispy or oily and had a great color. It was something that put a smile on my face.

They are busy again by the way. During the height of the pandemic, I was the only customer in there doing to-go. I’m happy they are doing well again.

I have been here many times, usually when I was hungry and needed a quick bite. This spot is your typical Mexican spot where you order at the counter and the items will be brought to your table. Their menu consists of tacos, burritos, plates, soups, and much more. Most of their meats are pre-made and just warmed up when your order is placed. The staffs here are welcoming, well trained, understanding and to make your visits more enjoyable and safe they have a security officer present. This place is great for late night munchies, and if you want something easy. I highly recommend this place to anyone on a limited time, if you want a quick bite just like me or if you just so happen to be in the area where you are not sure to eat at. I might be back in the future to tryout the other options they have to offer.

Grabbed dinner here. It is set up cafeteria style, where you order at the counter and wait for your number to be called to pick up.

I went with a tostada and a chicken quesadilla. The tostada was crunchy with the right ratio of bean to toppings. The quesadilla was so cheesy, the cheese pulled when taking the pieces apart, flavor was spot on it was even good as leftovers.

Tucked into the strip on Mission, easily walked by, make sure you stop. The staff were friendly and helpful making the food as ordered.

This photo describes how the food is. It might not look the best, but it’s delicious, fast, good and affordable. I highly recommend 75cents chips in which i put this much of sauce and sides, but do order an entree along side, won’t be disappointed at all!!

It was great food, great service.

The tacos were great, nothing crazy special or standout besides you getting exactly what you expect. Solid, reliable tacos , not over the top or anything to go out of the way for but definitely worth checking out.

Been coming here for years!! The food is so tasty makes you want to eat more. The quality is pretty good. Not the best but not bad either. The prices are good too.

The employees make you feel comfortable. They all have smiles on their faces. This is a go to spot for many locals. You can’t go wrong eating here.

Very first time here. Always heard great reviews and wanted to give it a try!

We sat inside so we presented our COVID vaccination card. This was the first time eating in SF so it was weird since they placed the vaccination requirement. We were not sure if they accepted photos since we carried the original card.

I was surprised to see the price of a taco was $3.25!!

That’s the most expensive taco price I had ever seen. I’ve been to placed where tacos cost $1.95.

Either way I ordered 2 tacos (1 tripa + 1 al pastor). They were amazing. Absolutely loved them. Way bigger taco compared to other places so the price is worth it.

My boyfriend got a wet carne asada burrito. Was very flavorful and spicy which we loved!

We enjoyed our food and can’t wait to go back!
