Reviews
2025 update. El Farolito is awesome. The chefs here are experts. I love how the meats are always smoky delicious. Tonight’s take-out was my usual order, carnitas (deep fried pork) super burrito $12.25 and chips $0.75. Back when I was taking night classes at City College, I would come here all the time because they close at 3am on Thursdays. My rotation was El Farolito, Beep’s or 7-11 hot dogs after class let out at 9pm. Pretty much everything on the menu at El Farolito are good.
Original review: Not on the menu, my dorado style super steak burrito $9.50 was delicious. I also got a side of chips for $0.75. Officially, a dorado style (seared) burrito is not on the menu. I asked the cashier to make me one. So, if you are going to order one, you need to do it in-person and it depends on your Spanish or the cashier. The chef did a great job with mine. It was seared, not too crispy or oily and had a great color. It was something that put a smile on my face.
They are busy again by the way. During the height of the pandemic, I was the only customer in there doing to-go. I’m happy they are doing well again.
I went with a tostada and a chicken quesadilla. The tostada was crunchy with the right ratio of bean to toppings. The quesadilla was so cheesy, the cheese pulled when taking the pieces apart, flavor was spot on it was even good as leftovers.
Tucked into the strip on Mission, easily walked by, make sure you stop. The staff were friendly and helpful making the food as ordered.
It was great food, great service.
The employees make you feel comfortable. They all have smiles on their faces. This is a go to spot for many locals. You can’t go wrong eating here.
We sat inside so we presented our COVID vaccination card. This was the first time eating in SF so it was weird since they placed the vaccination requirement. We were not sure if they accepted photos since we carried the original card.
I was surprised to see the price of a taco was $3.25!!
That’s the most expensive taco price I had ever seen. I’ve been to placed where tacos cost $1.95.
Either way I ordered 2 tacos (1 tripa + 1 al pastor). They were amazing. Absolutely loved them. Way bigger taco compared to other places so the price is worth it.
My boyfriend got a wet carne asada burrito. Was very flavorful and spicy which we loved!
We enjoyed our food and can’t wait to go back!
