As an Argentinian, I know meat because it’s part of who we are. And honestly, Meat Moot in Paterson, NJ truly impressed me. The quality of the meat, the flavor, the texture… everything was on point. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of bold, rich flavor. This is the kind of place that takes meat seriously, and you can taste it in every bite.
What made the experience even better was the service. Lilly was phenomenal, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She made us feel welcome and elevated the whole experience from start to finish.
If you’re someone who truly loves good meat and appreciates quality, this place delivers. I’ll definitely be back since this spot is a gem.

Meat Moot in Paterson is such a unique spot! They’re in over 14 countries worldwide, so it’s awesome to have one right here in NJ. The menu is simple, $45 per pound for any of their smoked meats, and it includes unlimited sauces, sides, and drinks.
We tried the lamb shank, lamb ribs, beef ribs, and brisket, and everything was incredibly tender, smoky, and flavorful. The portions are generous, and the variety of sauces really adds to the experience. The fire show is a fun touch and definitely makes it memorable.

Experience was not great. When we first arrived, there was only 1 other table there. It was our first time here, the server seated us right away, did not even verify our reservation, and we later had to add one more table to our because we did not have enough seats. She did not explain how the menu or restaurant works, there was just a paper “menu” on the table with a QR codes to maps and instagram, no prices or description of the menu. There are only 6 Meat options all Beef and Lamb. They did not have the Tomahawk or Lamb neck. Our steaks were made by the server and not the chef who was prepping the brisket and ribs. The steak was cold. The brisket only had flavor on the outside, and did not taste “smoked”. We were suppose tog et unlimited drinks, rice, salad and sauce, we did not. The servers, (counter girls and staff dressed in black) were no where to be found most of the time. They mostly attended to 1 table that seemed like family/friends because the small children kept going to the kitchen. For water we got small 6oz bottles that were room temp and no one came to give us more. We only got 1 round of rice, salad and sauce. We had to eat the meat by itself because nothing was replenished. We will not be returning or recommending this place. Also the chef puts on a show when preparing the meat, they did not offer us a “show”, but they put on a show for the table that family/friends.

My experience was not that good today. Their Instagram makes it seem like the ambience of this place is top tier but, I didn’t experience that at all.
To start off, we were not greeted upon arrival and had to wave someone over to seat us. Then, the menu was confusing and not explained too well by the server. I did not like the fact we had to walk up to the front to tell our order and not directly to the sever. The sides were okay, I really liked both salads but the mashed potatoes were a little bland but good texture. We ordered the lamb shoulder and beef ribs, ended up sharing the lamb because they sold out of beef. I wanted a lemonade, They were sold out. I asked for a sprite and was given a CC ginger ale instead. The lamb shoulder was very good, easy to chew and flavorful. The sauce selection is tasty. The servers walk around with gloves on, and open the doors of the kitchen with the same gloves. The girls who work there are sweet but the place seems unorganized. We were not even offered the drinks, we had to ask after being served the salads if they had anything to drink. There is no drink menu, or at least we didn’t receive one. Disappointing experience for a Friday night.

Meat Moot in Paterson, NJ offers a warm, inviting atmosphere and the menu looked exciting…..especially the Lamb Neck we ordered. Unfortunately, when it finally arrived, the dish was disappointingly cold, which dulled the flavors and left us underwhelmed. Service was polite but slow, and the overall experience didn’t live up to expectations. Not planning to return anytime soon, but hope they improve food temperature consistency and service.

It kind of pains me to write this but based on my 1st experience because of all the other very good reviewers here which is what spiked my curiosity and the reason for the 45min drive to try it.
We did the beef ribs and brisket.
The staff and servers were very friendly and checked on us accommodating our every need. Quick response to need and questions and serve time was not long, excellent here.
Presentation was clean on the serving plates, very nice and everything looks very tasty and was served hot.
As far as the food I really was not that impressed. The beef ribs were very tender and fall off the bone. Texture and tenderness great, I felt the flavor was good on it’s own but nothing stood out as exceptional or even memorable enough to consider returning for another visit.
As far as the brisket….perhaps I got an overdone serving but the brisket was a bit dry and overcooked IMO. When you need a sauce to swallow it easily that’s overdone.
Don’t read this the wrong way, it’s good, just not what I was expecting considering all the other reviews I read. My visit was just before regular dinner time so maybe that had some reasoning for what I got. I will return one day during regular high time and hour it’s improved.
Saucess were nice on their own when tasted individually but servings were small and if you like one it’ll require asking for more.

Mashed potatoes I liked as well as the long grain rice.
For my beverage I had the mint lemonade, which I enjoyed a lot.
So far it was a good experience. I’ll definitely come back again and try items other than the beef and hopefully improve their rating. I feel it is 3-4 star place as far as food.
The reason I rated it 3 overall is the restrooms. Seriously this needs improvement I’d suggest a complete redesign and much more frequent service schedule. I got worried when another woman came out looking clearly distraught. The 2 females I was with were not happy either after their visit in the larger one. I used the smaller one and it just was not clean, streaky floors, very narrow, misaligned seat, poor condition wash sink.
Management please pay attention to this it really needs improvement, you got most everything else right. I’ll give it a few months then try again, hope to see it improved.

Came by on a Saturday at 1330 (1:30pm) and found two customers. The staff saw us come in, but ignore us as we stood around and waited. I am sure it was awkward for the couple sitting and eating. Still, it’s not until we were leaving that one of the staff members decide to walk towards us. I was very excited to try this spot as I saw so many good reviews, but Al Hamdoulilah I won’t get to experience any type of disdain where I am not wanted.

I went for Valentine’s Day with reservation using open table.. 1. They took really long to send down. 2. They didn’t seat us down more the 30 mins
3. After we sit down I waited another 15 mins without showing no menu.
4. After that a worker came to us to tell us know that didn’t have no food that all.
We were the only one that left the place. Probably 3 more couples left as well.

I can’t emphasize enough how amazing my experience was at Meat Moot.
We were greeted at the entrance and we were shown the menu and options in depth. We were then seated and within 2 minutes we were brought our selection which we had agreed on at the entrance.
The meat just melts in your mouth and you can’t stop yourself from digging in to the food. The meat comes with rice, mashed potatoes, diced baked potatoes, two types of salads, and a variety of sauces.
The service was also amazing. The waiters made sure you had everything you needed to enjoy your food while staying super respectful and professional.
10/10 experience, would definitely come back.
