WOW! Our B&B host recommended this spot for lunch while we waited on our room to be ready. So glad we listened! You definitely feel like you’re eating at a local spot here and you totally are. We had the mahi-mahi tacos and black beans & rice. Incredibly delicious and so fresh. I told my husband I could eat there every day.

This place has got some history to it! You definitely feel like you’re eating at a local spot here and you totally are! We just heard we had to try their Conch Fritters which is what we did and they did not disappoint! Very tasty and would definitely come back. Would recommend any one visiting Key West to come try this local hot spot!

I have to be honest, I was disappointed with this visit and was expecting more. The service was friendly, however they did forget our fries, but we’re also quick to correct it when we asked and very apologetic. The Conch frittera were amazing but the Grouper sandwich which is their signature was very bland to me. I was expecting a lot more based on reviews and lists for the island. I will say it is a very cool place, definitely a hole in the wall and I absolutely love a hole in the wall. Maybe I caught them on an off time or day???? Overall, good but not great.

All the restaurants were a 1 1/2 hour wait. Had great conversation with the lady behind the counter about the Key West community. Took the food back to the rental and it was great. Shrimp basket and conch fritters. Highly recommend.

Bo’s is a little fish shak that sits on a corner that had the BEST fish that I had the whole time I was in the Keys. The building really has no doors on it other than where you can go into the kitchen in the back and they can close it up inside where you order. Other than that…its open except for the roof to keep the elements out of where you sit. Nothing is level…nothing is plumb. I love it! Absolutely the best fish on the island!

Great grouper sandwich with cool vibe in a small shack with outdoor seating. Good location if you’re heading to Wharf or Duval but mind the parking police. They ain’t friendly-

Can only get the grouper sandwich fried but it was still very good. The conch fritters were excellent. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is quirky and fun

We visited B.O.’s Fish Wagon because we appreciate laid-back, quirky places and have happily eaten in some very no-frills establishments over the years. Unfortunately, this felt less like intentional rustic charm and more like neglect.
The dining area was dirty with visibly dry-rotted benches. Chickens were freely walking across sticky tables, and we noticed bird droppings on the tables. It raised real concerns about cleanliness and food safety, which made it hard to enjoy the experience.
As for the food, it was underwhelming. The Key West shrimp was overcooked and tough, and the sandwich roll was cold and unremarkable. Given the overall condition of the space, we found ourselves genuinely worried about food handling and quality control.
We understand that the rough-around-the-edges aesthetic is part of the appeal, but there’s a difference between rustic and unsanitary.

✨This is an open letter to the co-owner of B.O. s Fish Wagon ->

Dear Jan,

I traveled to Key West during the holiday week with my daughter and 22 year old niece. The joy of holiday travel comes from breaking routine for new experiences, strengthening bonds with loved ones, and creating lasting memories through culture immersion. We are Florida residents and wanted a getaway from daily stresses.
While visiting Key West we were excited when we stumbled upon your restaurant and heard your backstory of how you acquired the restaurant. We overlooked the roach and the chaotic atmosphere/energy of the business. Even though we were the first ones in line, it took quite a while to receive our food and the order was incorrect.

However I drew a line in the chaos when you began yelling racial slurs at the young black employee working for you. I was appalled and deeply offended when we (and other patrons in the restaurant) overheard you chastising him in such manner.

Jan, for goodness sake, please reconsider your use of the term “nigger” (the N-word). The N-word has been established to be derogatory, degrading, dehumanizing and is one of the most offensive words in history. The stigma of this word embodies and invokes painful memories and inhumane ill-will; and countless individuals have lost their lives due to the beliefs perpetuated by the use of this word.

Not only was I at a loss for words while dining in your establishment, I lost my appetite. To hear you boldly and blatantly blast this employee did not sit well with us. In addition to calling him the N-word, you called him the “scum of the earth.”

Jan, never have I ever. I am truly disgusted and deeply disturbed by your behavior and words. Not only will I never bring my hard earned money to your establishment, I hope no other individual of African American descent patronizes it either. If you have that much hostility and lack self-control and compassion please consider retiring. And for goodness sake, invest in getting yourself some REAL help/therapy. Racial sensitivity training aims to show how words and actions might impact someone of a different race, gender, or anyone different from them.

Respectfully submitted,
Tanya Foster

What do you know, another Key West spot with immaculate vibes. Such a chill little location. The guy who took our order was so nice, took the time to chat up every customer a little bit. The grouper sandwich is excellent. Picture doesn’t do it justify. It’s a very simple, no frills sandwich, they have a key lime mayo that I’d recommend getting on the side to dip your fries in also. This place rocks.
