Had brunch here recently and even though the brunch menu is on the smaller side, every dish hit the spot. The Peaches & Cream Stuffed French Toast was sweet and creamy, perfect for anyone with a serious brunch-sweet tooth. Cocktails are thoughtful and well-made.

This was my first time at this restaurant and I could not have been more pleased with both the service and the food quality. My bartender server was very attentive and polite. I also have to comment on just how beautiful this restaurant is. There is plenty of seating with lots of different seating options available both inside and out.

I went with the steak and eggs for brunch and everything was absolutely incredible! I also ordered a side of bacon and I can officially say that this was the best tasting bacon I have ever put in my dirty mouth. The breakfast potatoes were super yummy and seasoned to perfection. The steak was very flavorful and also cooked perfectly! For a drink I tried the tropical breeze and I highly recommend it! Check this place out and thank me later.

This is definitely a run don’t walk to spot. Next time I’m in Bloomington this is going to be my go-to as there’s a lot more on that menu I want to dig into.

This place was great, the service was great, we both got the smash burger. The quality of the food, building, people, and overall the quality of the establishment was top tier this place is a nice place to hang out and have a great lunch. Kudos to the manager there also she was very nice and inclusive always checking and making sure everything was great and seeing if the food was good etc. the scenery is a beautiful, modern, and welcoming, environment it is beautiful from the floral decor to the big tree in the middle to the pretty hanging lights above this place cares about its looks a lot and it shows. 10/10 I would recommend southern stone to locals, visitors, students, anyone! Great place!!!

What a surprisingly delightful experience! This place has struggled in the past, but under new ownership, it not only looks completely different (what beautiful decor!) but also offers delicious food and drinks. The shrimp and grits were delicious, and the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly, while the gouda flavor came through nicely on the grits. The crab cakes were also surprisingly flavorful. I would like to have had a little bit thicker and crunchier batter on the fried chicken, but the chicken itself was moist, and the flavor delicious. Generous portions, too. If you haven’t been back since the new ownership, I highly recommend going and giving it a try.

Dinner date at 55 Southern Stone was just grand! Now under new ownership after some troubled times. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere so inviting and fun. We enjoyed the sweet gem salad, fried green tomatoes, the sea bass, and the jerk mahi mahi. We’ll definitely go back. Thanks to our server Lucas who made our experience great!

My girlfriends and I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday, and I must say, we were very impressed! The food was fabulous, the ambiance was to die for, our margaritas were top tier, and the customer service from our server/bartender Juan also was nothing short of amazing. I give this spot a 10/10 and will definitely be going back!! I highly recommend for a date night or girls brunch, you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant recently went through a change in ownership. The new owners also own Truffles, another of our favorite restaurants in town. If you have not tried the new 55 Southern Stone, you are missing out.

First impression, the service was awesome! We liked the new decor as well. The bar was well stocked, the bar service was excellent, and the drinks were perfect.

The salmon was cooked to our liking and had a nice sauce. The jerk mahi mahi was very good and not overpowering on the jerk. The asparagus and rice with the mahi were also perfectly cooked. One of our party ordered the Caesar salad and said it was excellent.

Overall, LOVE the new iteration of 55 Southern Stone. We are happy to add this to our rotation of restaurants, alongside Truffles!

This is an independent, uncompensated review.

Tried this place for the first time on Mother’s Day. There was little to no parking. We had to wait for someone to leave to get a spot, and other family members had to park across the street at a different business lot, as there were no more spots at the location.

We had a reservation. While we got drinks fairly quickly, it was 30 minutes before the waitress came to take our order. As we began to order from the menu, the waitress informed us that our selections were on the dinner menu, and that wasn’t served until after 3pm. No one told us this upon our reservation, nor upon seating, nor is that listed anywhere on the menu. We quickly made new selections from the brunch/sandwich portion of the menu. It was another 30 minutes before we got our food. We sat for an entire hour before we were able to eat.

The food was okayish, but nothing immaculate. The Smashburger was undercooked (still really red). The chicken & waffles weren’t great. The salad came without the dressing.

I will say the aesthetics of the restaurant are very nice. It was a beautiful, fun atmosphere, and we had a nice booth. I think I read the place is under new ownership, so I believe it may have potential, but it’s not there yet. Especially for the prices. Perhaps they will improve with time!

Our 1st visit with the new ownership was for dinner. We were SO impressed with the quality/taste of the food and the INCREDIBLE service provided by Kierra, that we visited yesterday to try out the Brunch menu (which our server highly recommended).

We were NOT disappointed! My husband got the Peaches & Cream Stuffed French Toast with a side of bacon. The French Toast was delightful- make sure you have a sweet tooth, though. I have to admit that I ordered an additional side of bacon when I saw my husband’s side- I added an additional side of bacon. An excellent quantity & quality for the price point! I ordered the Breakfast Scramble (the menu name may not match) with bacon. I did feel that the eggs and potatoes needed more seasoning (esp salt), but the bacon was nice and crispy (our request) and OMGoodness- the BISCUITS & GRAVY!!!!! Amazing!!! The combination of flavors are indescribable, but they work. I didn’t even try to pick out the separate ingredients/seasonings because they were simply harmonious and I chose to simply enjoy, rather than analyze. We were also fortunate to get Kierra as our server again, and she was just as friendly, efficient, helpful, and delightful! I’m sure you can imagine how indecisive I can be while ordering, but she answered all of my questions (refined sugars are a dietary restriction for me) and helped with selections when I asked.
