Open Flame opened in November of 2005. We are a family-owned business that specializes in a wide variety of food. We serve only the finest fish/Seafood available delivered daily. All of our steaks and chops are custom cut by us, to ensure quality. Chicken, Ribs and Pork are slow roasted in our wood-burning rotisserie ovens for the best flavors. Burgers are USDA steak, hand-packed in our kitchen. Our soups are made daily from the finest ingredients. We make all of our own salad dressings and barbeque sauce for the great flavor we are proud of. This year we are proud to have won the BEST Traditional America Restaurant in Milwaukee from WISN A-list.

We were in the area and decided to have supper here randomly. It was an excellent choice! The Soup du Jour, the Roasted Red Pepper was outstanding. We expected the usual cup but got a bowl each. The olive oil dip for the bread basket almost made us full before our meals arrived. Our waitress was a very sweet and personable lady and our entrees came out pretty quick. The host was also a very friendly and personable guy. The halibut stuffed with and scallops topped with very well seasoned shrimp was very good. The halibut was not overcooked. The chicken schnitzel with asparagus was excellent. The place is huge with a big bar that also has some dining tables. There is a main dining room and an adjacent dining hall where we sat. The place was very busy but we were seated right away. It has a big nenu and you get excellent food without burning a big hole in your pocket. We’ll definitely be back.

We went to Open Flame base on a recommendation to do fish fry and have perch. We’re so glad we followed up on that. The place was very busy on a Friday night, but with a reservation we were seated right away and love our round table in the corner (we had a 2 year old with us). The perch reco was great! We also ordered cod fish fry to compare the two and both were great! Service was speedy and polite with both drinks and food. We all enjoyed everything. and being from the East Coast, we thought they made a mistake on the bill, it was very inexpensive. Would definitely go back.

Ok, this was my first time at Open Flame for breakfast. The food, service and atmosphere are all OK. Sorry, but nothing 5 stars here for breakfast. I had the Grecian Omelette with Potatoes. Not much gyro in the omelette, in my opinion. The flavor is OK, not something I’d go back for, personally. The potatoes were my favorites. The pancakes are an option vs toast. Cost is reasonable, but I woukd pay an extra dollar to eat more flavorful food. It was not crowded, so you can relax and have a nice conversation here.

OMG it was the BEST experience. Our waiter was on point with EVERYTHING even when we changed our drink order (didn’t see the drinks specials), he was kind, funny and very appreciated on Christmas other hosts and management was out greeting and helping omg the food MELTS in your mouth. One of my favorite restaurants! I would always come here and order the Spinach Artichoke Fondu and Tiramisu — Because these are the best items on the menu and would be all that I want. Last time I ordered these items was the summer of 2023 as I no longer live in the area.
I stopped here with my husband a few weeks because we were in town and I decided to expand my normal order to include an entree. We still ordered the spinach artichoke dip, but to my disappointment, they stopped making this with the goat cheese 🙁
Now that they use sour cream and chicken broth, it’s pretty much the same as you’d get anywhere. I will no longer rave about this menu item
My husband ordered medallions and they looked decent, I ordered the grouper and it was fairly delicious. The bed of butter noodles could use more butter & garlic for my taste pallet.
Of course, I also ordered the tiramisu, but the staff forgot to take it out of the freezer the day before, so I was not able to indulge in the second best item on the menu —which is probably for the best, considering if they changed their spinach dip recipe, they probably changed tiramisu.

I went to this restaurant with four of my friends, to have a fun dinner to catch up. The ambiance was lovely, feeling especially cozy on a cold winter night.
The parking in the back is ample, but if you are not steady on your feet, you may want some help getting from your spot down to the door.
The restaurant had music that wasn’t too loud, so conversation was easy, but you didn’t overhear what other tables were up to. Our waitress was lovely, and immediately asked if we wanted separate checks which was a great surprise to us, since we always have to ask when we go on these group outings.
We asked her for her favorite things on the menu, and she recommended a few standards and a few specials, which we all chose from. The fresh baked bread with oil is so good! I would come back just for that!
I had some tenderloins with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I did have a little order envy for my friends with the Greek chicken and some of the pasta dishes. My food was good, but the tenderloins were small, and the mashed potatoes were a little cold. Still delicious though!
Would definitely come back with friends, family or on a date night.

We went to Open Flame for Valetines day. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by very friendly staff. But want to give a special shout out to our waiter Robert. He went above and beyond what he had to and was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back and hopefully we have Robert to make our visit great again!
