Great service and the food is very good. The portions are very generous for the price. Worth the trip to Big Bay which is about 25 miles from Marquette. Friday fish fry is from 3pm-8pm and a must!

Great little place for a meal. The food was prepared properly and in generous quantities. The waitress is a delight. We enjoyed it.

Great local cafe to grab a quick bite! We had breakfast twice during our trip. Friendly low key service too.

So…..when in Big Bay…and you want something to eat…this is one of three places to eat (Thunder Bay Inn and a Lumbermans bar) and the only one serving breakfast…this is a smaller diner…seating limited but never waited for a table…menu is typical for a small diner…portions adequate and prices fair (given recent unavoidable inflation)…Service has always been prompt…conveniently located across from beautiful Perkins Park…easy walk for family …but beware…closes at 2pm every day except Friday when they stay open til 8 for a fish fry…

I thought this place was awesome. Southern omelette stuffed with sausage and I don’t mean just a couple of pieces, I mean stuffed
And killer marble rye that was probably home made. I loved this place. Tons of atmosphere and a great server. If I didn’t live 3 hours away, I’d go more often.

I’m not one to usually write mean reviews on places after one visit, however, this one requires it. I know that people often look at reviews to determine whether or not to go to a restaurant and let me dave you the time and tell you not to spend your hard earned money here. There are other places to eat in town that much more deserve your buisness. To start off, the waitress was horribly rude. Im honestly still in shock that she has a job still. When we walked in, she saw that we were younger (all in our mid 20s) and she instantly got an attitude. We asked if we could move a chair to a booth so all 5 of us (whom live together in the same household) could sit together and she blatantly said no. She said that it had to be left that way because of covid , but if you look into the governers actual order it states that anyone within the same household can be seated next to each other and does not have to remain 6 feet apart. We ordered a burger and she brought it out with cheese on it and gave is attitude when we politely tried to tell her that there wasn’t supposed to be chees on the sandwich and then walked away. She refused to serve our friends drinks until their meals had already arrived. Overall the food wasn’t bad but the attitude ruined the place for us forever. Not what you would expect from a nice small town restaurant. Very disappointing.

Very quaint restaurant in the small town of Big Bay. The restaurant is very clean and basic. There are two unique tables that are memorials for two local families in the center of the restaurant. The biscuits and gravy were very good, fresh with little kick. The pasties are made on site and are excellent, with a nice flaky crust and fully loaded inside. Our waitress is the one who makes them and informed us if , we went two doors down, we could buy them at the market, which of course we did.

Found myself in Big Bay for one night on a week-long U.P. vacation. Had breakfast Wednesday morning. Sat at the counter. The waitress was friendly and diligent. She did everything she was supposed to do. The menu was a typical breakfast menu. I had the Hungry Hollow breakfast (eggs, meat, hash browns, toast) with a 1/2 order of B&G. Everything was great. Sausage gravy was excellent. Biscuit was excellent (just like mama used to make). The eggs were perfect over easy. Always had hot tea in my cup. Great place, great food, great service. Thanks HHC. jc
