We had the most amazing brunch here on Sunday. The staff were wonderful and the place is beautiful! The views of the water are breathtaking. It was so peaceful. We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill. Very fairly priced for the service and high quality food. The lobster eggs Benedict had a very generous amount of lobster and it was served with bread fresh out of the oven. This is definitely a MUST try place for a taste of luxury without spending a fortune!

I stopped into The Wharf at the Madison Beach Hotel for a late lunch and had a solid experience. I ordered the burger with blue cheese, apple slices, caramelized onions, and what tasted like an Irish mustard. The flavors were great overall, though the blue cheese was a bit strong for my taste — turning it into a blue cheese aioli would balance it perfectly.

The beer was good, the service was smooth, and the real standout was the view. Beachfront, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. A great spot to unwind.

This place is simply phenomenal. The terrace alone makes it unforgettable, with its magical view of the sunset casting colors across Long Island Sound. The play of light between the calm water, the vibrant sky, the green grass, and the beautiful beachfront hotel is breathtaking and makes every dinner feel like a special occasion.

The cocktails and wide selection of creative mocktails were a highlight, perfectly crafted and refreshing. The lobster roll was phenomenal, packed with flavor and freshness. The vegetarian cauliflower rice dish was outstanding, full of creativity and taste. Even dessert carried the same inventive spirit: a coconut mousse presented in the shape of a seashell, the perfect round-out to an already perfect dining experience.

On top of that, the service was flawless. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, embodying true 5-star hospitality. From beginning to end, everything felt polished yet warm and welcoming.

I only wish there were more places like this along the beautiful Connecticut shoreline. But this one is for sure a gem.

The Wharf is inside the beautiful Madison Beach Hotel, with the perfect setting right by the water. I love the atmosphere and we’ve been here 3 times already this summer.

Outside on the covered patio, they have both dining tables and high tops facing the water. The outdoor space is limited and they have tables inside as well, but I’d recommend the outdoor seating on a nice day, if you’re dining alone or with up to 2-3 people.

My favorites are the New England Clam Chowder and Lobster Roll. Their fries aren’t my favorite and even though I’m not a huge fan of truffles, their truffle fries were also quite good.

One thing to note is that the service level has varied. Sometimes it’s been quite slow and we’ve also had a mix-up with the order. If they raised the service level, it’d feel even more upscale.

I stayed at the amazing Madison Beach Hotel on Sunday March 23, 2025 and enjoyed a lovely dinner and then breakfast.

I was able to sit in the enclosed area that has heating and enjoy some of the view of the Long Island Sound, although it was a bit dark. My waitress was attentive and friendly, she recommended a signature drink and helped me decide on an entree. I also enjoyed dessert.

The next morning was just as expected with breakfast options and this time my waitress was named Dulce (what a lovely name!) and Chef Peter came out to ask if my breakfast was to my liking: which it was!

I really felt like I was in Heaven for the duration of my stay which was short but amazing. I recommend The Wharf Restaurant to anyone who enjoys delicious cuisine, impeccable service and a view that is just heavenly.

I went back to hotel and The Wharf Restaurant with my husband for Mother’s Day Sunday May 11th, 2025. Again, amazing services and views of the sound. We had a delicious dinner and were truly mesmerized by all of it! I can’t wait to go back. ♥️

We came to the restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and unfortunately we had a disappointing experience. I don’t feel comfortable giving negative feedback to a restaurant ,but it’s the only way I have to help the owners improve. It took about half an hour for them to come take our order , and all the while water from the air conditioner was dripping on our heads. We asked to move but the hostess forgot and only after we ordered the food did she come to apologize. We received the food after another 25 minutes , and here was the biggest disappointment. The steak I received was inedible, full of gristle and fat of cheap meat. Although the picture I attached is difficult to see, you can see that on the left side I placed what I tried to chew without success. After I complained, the staff removed the charge for the steak . We must note that the place has the potential to be a place of good experience; the location is excellent , and there is a very good atmosphere . After all this , we cannot understand how it is possible to serve diners cheap meat that is of terrible quality. We really hope that you will know how to fix the deficiencies.

In response to my review, I got a call from John on behalf of the restaurant management. I appreciated the customer service and concern he showed for our bad experience. It seems that the poor quality of the meat was an unfortunate mishap and something that the restaurant greatly regrets. I was impressed with the professional follow-up .

Full disclosure: I am biased. I have many fond childhood memories of Madison, so I really wanted to love this place. We used to rent a house for the summer literally right around the block. I last ate at a previous incarnation of this restaurant back in the 1980s, and it was okay but not great, pricey because of its prime location on the water but nothing to write home about. Not so in 2025! I’m thrilled to report that it is now one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the Madison area in years. The pork tenderloin, duck and clam chowder were all outstanding, the service was excellent, and oh that view! To cap it all off, very reasonable prices. Far too many restaurants charge a premium for the waterfront location but fail to deliver on the really important stuff. But these guys definitely deliver. So for the foreseeable future, whenever my travels take me through Madison, this will be my first choice for dinner.

Beautiful place for dinner. No sunset unfortunately due to the low-lying clouds but awesome nevertheless. Recommend reserving to get the high-top patio seating which puts the views right in front of you.

Our server Kevin was very nice and helpful. We ordered the mussels, the steak which was perfectly cooked to medium rare, and the braised short ribs. All were delicious. They currently have the pumpkin seasonal beer which was really good too.

Quick overnight escapade to Madison this weekend. Went to The Wharf for dinner. Hospitality and service were impeccable. We got a table even though it was last minute. They accommodated us since they missed the call from our B&B. But, let’s get to the important part, the food!!! From the warm bread and in-house made butter selection to the lamb meatballs to the skillet pressed chicken and grilled pork tenderloin, everything and I mean everything was delicious! We couldn’t help but clean our plates lol. The cherry on top, Marianne was just amazing. Marianne, merci pour tout et pour une soirée exceptionelle. Ce fut un plaisir ☺️ . Will definitely go again when I’m in the area.

P.s. Excuse the half-eaten entrees. Lol, they were that good. Remembered to take pictures only halfway
